The Bold And The Beautiful Comings and Goings: Krista Allen Debuts As Taylor Hayes

The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers indicate that Days of Our Lives alum Krista Allen has taken over the role of Taylor Hayes. Hunter Tylo was the original Taylor who stole Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) heart. Tylo played the role from 1990 on and off until 2019.

Hunter Tylo Was Unavailable

The Bold And The Beautiful’s Tylo was unavailable to come back to the show this time. Fortunately, Krista was thrilled to step into the role of Taylor. Krista doesn’t see it as taking over the role, she sees it more as stepping in where needed. Krista believes that she’s playing a character and that the character will live on no matter who is playing her. Krista says her first acting role was on The Bold And The Beautiful as a reoccurring character named Shelley. Krista says she was so bad that the character never did reoccur. Krista does believe it is very cool to go back to Bold after 26 years and step into such an iconic role now.

Krista Allen Did Get A Makeover

The Bold And The Beautiful’s Krista admits that she did get a makeover for the role including a wig. Krista says she read with onscreen daughter Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). Allen admits that she prepped for the role by watching several Taylor scene from the last time she was on the show. Allen cut her wig to look like Taylor after watching how-to tutorials on YouTube. Allen says she has met Thorsten Kaye, who plays Ridge Forrester. Allen has yet to meet Katherine Kelly Lang, who plays Brooke Forrester, however, she says she cannot wait to meet her.

Krista Allen Hopes For Acceptance

The Bold And The Beautiful’s Allen hopes that fans will accept her as Taylor. Krista says she is watching Taylor’s interactions with everyone so she can make her portrayal as authentic as possible. However, it is usually hard for a recast to win over an audience that has watched one actor in a role for so long. Allen admits that there will always be people who see her as Billy and won’t accept her as Taylor. Krista admits that it takes a lot of people to bring a character to life and that she is the last in that line. Once the hair, makeup, and clothes are dawned, it becomes that actor’s job to walk on stage and bring that character to life.

Taylor is a strong independent woman and Krista is ready to step into that role when she takes the stage. Krista can only hope that fans will accept her as Taylor Hayes and enjoy the show.
