General Hospital Spoilers: Maurice Benard Hints Nina Might Be Sonny’s Saving Grace
General Hospital spoilers say that for all of those fans out there who believed that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) were meant to be together forever, they might want to rethink that again. That’s because actor Maurice Benard, who plays Sonny on the hit ABC soap, hints that it might be Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) who might be his saving grace. Here’s what you need to know.

Speaking with Michal Fairman TV in a new interview, Maurice opened up about Sonny’s current relationship with Nina and how different it’s been compared to his marriage to Carly. He also said that Sonny’s drinking became a problem again after his split from his wife. Thankfully though, Nina has been by his side to help him get past his troubles.
Maurice puts it this way, “Well, Nina [Cynthia Watros] gets him to stop drinking, and I don’t want it to be like Nina is only with him to take care of the damaged guy. It’s good for acting to be able to play that stuff, but we’ve got to move forward now, and it does. That’s the beauty of GH now, whenever I’m thinking something, it seems like they’re doing it.”
General Hospital Spoilers: Are Sonny And Nina In It For The Long Haul?
Mauriuce also hinted that Sonny and Nina could become Port Charles’ new “it” couple. He said, “I do, and I didn’t when we first started working together. I told Cynthia, ‘This isn’t going to work well, and I’m playing this cowboy, but let’s have fun! Let’s do it!’ and that’s how it started. The beauty of it was that we had nine months to build the relationship, and we weren’t trying. We were on our own island over there in Nixon Falls, and it just progressed. With Cynthia, she has the vulnerability to sell the storyline, and if she didn’t have vulnerability, it wouldn’t work. I love Cynthia as an actress. We just have a kind of easiness in our scenes.”

I don’t see a connection with Sonny and Nina,not after he’s been with someone like Carley
I don’t like the newTrina, she’s way too different from the other. Too cold.
I don’t see the connection either.If he’s going to be with anyone besides Carly, I like Brenda to return and get back together with Sonny, they had magic together, there’s no magic between Nina and Sonny. Michael and Willow would accept Brenda.
I don’t see any real spark or connection between Sonny and Nina. How can Nina be his “saving grace” when she’s the one who sent him on this spiraling path to begin with. Sonny should want to make her pay for ruining his life with Carly and his kids. I truly hope GH doesn’t go forward with this SL or they might be the next soap cancelled. I can’t even stand to see them together.
I do not understand why the writers are humoring MB- who cares if he wants the SL when the majority detest it?
No way is Nina sonny saving grace. They don’t belong together, if any person did what she did to family he would want ravage
The article about saving grace of delusionalNina is what Sonny(Maurice) thinks the ratings are down. During this Nixon falls story but really regaining your memory from Amenisa and coming home to your wife and then wanting 3 people in a marriage you allow delusionalNina to break up your marriage and you didn’t seek Mental health care or any for the Amenisa. You allowed your family to be broken after a women who knew kept you away and lived in fantasy world. Something wrong with entire story on the soaps.
So either you get it together and get your one true love back beautiful wife Carly back. Old looking nina you are crazy if you think a paranoid delusional women is your saving grace. In this story you list your children the entire family.
Take a look at Victor on Y&R he loves his wife and entire family no women can. Co.e between him and his beautiful wife.

I do agree! Sonny is not the character he should be. This smike is a weakling that allows Nina to manipulate him and he doesn’t even see it… no chemistry, I don’t like seeing their roles. I fast forward to keep from throwing up!
it makes me so mad, I can’t even begin….
I know Mr. Benard like to change up his character, because it can be a bit boring doing the same character everyday, however, the character Sonny with Nina doesn’t work. There isn’t any chemistry. Know one in their “right” mine would leave their family and go after a woman who willfully lied for months about who he was. The story is too far fetched.
I am in 500% agreeance, GH, get this together. You want us to see Nina as a wonderful woman/wife to Sonny, when she broke up his family with her delusions and didn’t pay one iota for it? I fast forward through any part of Sonny & Nina. I HATE them,.

I am sorry I see no chemistry between Sonny and Nina at all. I don’t understand Carly and Jason had to get married to protect Carly why is this different since they are now divorced. The only person liking this story line is Maurice most of the fans hate it. I FF through all the scenes with Sonny and Nina. There is no way the old Sonny would let someone hurt his family then turn around and sleep with them.
I like Sonny and Carly. I cringe at the whole Sonny Nina story line. Wish that one was over
Fast forward through all their scenes. A slap in the face to the character of Sonny we’ve grown to love. Might as well left him as Mike so we could at least understand his decisions. The chemistry is non existent.
The storyline makes no sense to me, Sonny has always been written to be loyal to his family. So now Nina is suppose to be his save & grace at the cost of his family. Carly ran his business & grieved him because of Nina. I honestly don’t get it, don’t understand or like it. I’ve watched General Hospital less because of this storyline. I fast forward Sonny now 🤷🏾♀️. I still love GH. It’s just break time….
