The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Michael Mealor Is Back With An Extended Contract

The Young and the Restless comings and goings say that for those who have been missing Kyle Abbott on the small screen, we’ve got good news for you. There are new reports that say actor Michael Mealor will soon be reprising his role as Kyle on the hit CBS soap. What’s more, it looks like the handsome actor has also signed an extended contract with The Young and the Restless which means that we’ll be seeing plenty of him in the coming weeks and months ahead. Here’s what you need to know!

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Michael Mealor Is Back With An Extended Contract

Soap Opera Digest was the first to report that Michael is making a long-term comeback to The Young and the Restless as Kyle, the son of Jack Abbott and Diane, who is apparently back from the dead. This shouldn’t surprise anyone, as Kyle will be just as shocked to see his mother just like everyone else that his mother is alive. It’s going to be an Abbott family reunion like we’ve never seen before.

Back in September, Michael opened up to Soap Opera Digest about the reason why he decided to leave The Young and the Restless. He admitted admitted that his future relied on his contract negotiations with the producers of the show (as is the case with most daytime television actors). 

Michael put it this way, “My manager and I were working ourselves through it, and I think a couple of weeks into it … we were about to film a scene and, Hunter, correct me if I’m wrong, but it was, “Hey, I’ve got to talk to you about some business stuff.” I didn’t realize she was going through negotiations at the same time, so it kind of turned out to where I spilled everything.”

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: What’s Next For Kyle?

He continued, “Negotiations are a private thing, and I was like, “Hunter, this is what’s happening….” It’s difficult because you love the show and, you know, all that kind of stuff, and you’re so dedicated to it. I mean, it was my life. We worked 50 weeks a year, four days a week, so it becomes such a piece of your life and everyone there is family.”
