The Young and the Restless News: Linden Ashby Admits He Didn’t Want To Return To The Show

Well, at least he’s being honest. The Young and the Restless star Linden Ashby admits that it had to take more than just a little pull and tug for him to come back to the hit CBS soap to reprise his role as Cameron Kirsten. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

The Young and the Restless News: Linden Ashby Admits He Didn’t Want To Return To The Show

While there’s no doubt that The Young and the Restless fans certainly love the fact that Cameron is back and that he’s already causing mayhem in this fictional town of Genoa City, Linden had thought that his soap opera career was long over.

After much fan speculation about his future, Linden took to his Instagram account to clarify a few things. He wrote, “So, most of you know that Susan has been on The Young and The Restless for a while now. Well, they asked me to come on and bring back a character that I did over twenty years ago… and, I said, yes! I was reluctant for a lot of reasons, 1. It’s really hard work. Tons of dialogue and they shoot at least a show a day. 2. I didn’t want to suck and embarrass myself and more importantly, embarrass Susan. And 3. I was about to direct another tv movie and I didn’t think the schedule would work out. But, it did. And I gotta be honest, I had a blast. I love Sharon Case, I love Josh Morrow, Reylynn Caster, and… I love that girl who plays Dianne! So, thanks Josh Griffith for inviting me to come hang for a bit.”

Unfortunately, Linden also added that his run on The Young and the Restless is soon going to be over. Of course, it didn’t take long at all for his fans and his followers to weigh in on the matter. Some of them said, “Your character is so creepy….and your acting is incredible. Would not be surprised to see you win a Guest Emmy for it. Hate that you will be leaving the show so soon. We love Diane (Susan) too!”

Another fan wrote, “Thanks for reprising your role as Cameron. You did a phenomenal job. It was a joy watching you again. Y&R finally had a Villian doing Villian things! Not looking forward to seeing you leave,” along with, “Loving this storyline and love how Cameron came back as creepy and scary as 20 years ago and is fully bringing fear to the Shick family. Can’t wait to see how it all plays out with Faith this week!”

With that said, The Young and the Restless fans will certainly have to tune in each and every day to find out what will happen next. Watch this space.
