General Hospital spoilers say that while things are certainly heating up between Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), a lot of fans can’t help but wonder if Nina is selling herself short. While the character is often portrayed as a strong, smart and independent businesswoman, a lot of people can’t help but wonder why she would allow herself to be treated as Sonny’s mistress when everyone knows that deep down inside he will forever have the feels for his estranged wife, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). General Hospital Spoilers: Is Nina Making A Huge Mistake With Sonny?
While Sonny seems to be wining and dining Nina, along with getting busy in between the sheets with her, some General Hospital fans think that this isn’t the version of Nina that they want to see on the canvas. Clearly, she could do much better, right? She’s a beautiful and successful woman who doesn’t have to be treated like someone’s call girl.
Of course, it didn’t take very long for General Hospital fans and viewers to weigh in on the storyline on social media. Many of them have left comments such as, “I know they want Sonny and Nina to be this couple but they are not. I have posted it before them sleeping together and him running off to get his wife back makes Nina look pathetic. She is basically his call girl. They want to paint Nina as a smart strong business woman but all I see is a woman who is so pathetic that she doesn’t mind coming second which is just sad,” along with, “I’m cheering for Nina too even though if she were my girlfriend I’d have a lot of loooong talks with her about her decisions. Right after they slept together, Sonny treated Nina like day-old Taco salad.”

Another critic put it this way, “We all know there is no way Nina would be accepting of Sonny’s lifestyle. She fell in love with boring Mike, not mobster Sonny. So this will be a nice distraction for a bit but since we all know it’s not going to last and the story’s been lazily told and paced, so I’ll just skip to the ending where he and Carly get back together. (after he cheats on Nina with Carly of course).”
