Fired The Young and the Restless Writer Speaks Up: “I’m Going To Save My Feelings For The Group Chat”

The Young and the Restless news says that everyone is still feeling quite gobsmacked over the news that Executive Producer and Head Writer Josh Griffith has fired the soap’s entire breakdown writing team. One of those writers, Sara Bibel, has decided to speak up about the matter. Here’s what she has to say.

Fired The Young and the Restless Writer Speaks Up: “I’m Going To Save My Feelings For The Group Chat”

Sara, who many The Young and the Restless fans are familiar with, took to her Twitter account to write, “I was one of the writers who lost their jobs. I will always be proud and grateful for the 6 years I spent at #YR.  During my tenure, I wore almost every hat: scriptwriter, co-head writer the year we ran the tables at the Daytime Emmys (2018-19), script editor & outlines.”

She then added, “I’m going to save all my feelings for the group chat, and focus on what’s next for me. I’m looking for new writing jobs: daytime, primetime, streaming. Want someone for your mini-room? I’m accustomed to breaking 5-6 episodes a week. I’m a team player, I work fast and  on budget,” along with, “I’m proud that my name appeared in the credits on 250+ episodes a year of produced broadcast TV. If I had the luxury of working at a slower pace? I know I could do excellent work. Put me in your rooms, showrunners. Hire me for your OWAs producers & execs.”

What’s Next For Genoa City?

Of course, many of her fans and followers commented on her tweets with, “This absolutely sucks & is a horrible decision. Thanks for entertaining us over the years and I’m sorry and so angry this happened. Best of luck and I hope to see your name on my screen again soon,” along with, “I’m just gobsmacked. I’m sorry that happened, Sara. But I have no doubts you’re going to land where you feet should be for the next leg of the journey.”

Another critic wrote, “I’m so very sorry this happened! I also know that you guys probably wanted to give us more fulfilling story, but was held back. Thank you for your contribution to a show I have loved for years. I wish the best to you and the other writers.”

Needless to say, The Young and the Restless fans will have to tune in to find out what will happen next!
