While it’s been a few weeks since we’ve last seen her, Abby Newman is finally back where she belongs, and that’s home in Genoa City. Unfortunately, actress Melissa Ordway had tested positive for COVID-19 after her trip to Monaco to promote The Young and the Restless. Thankfully, she’s now feeling much better and is back in the studio filming her scenes again.
Sharing a photo of herself alongside her co-star Connor Floyd, she captioned her pic with, “After Monte Carlo and then quarantine it feels so good to be back in Genoa City! #yr.”
Back in 2021, Melissa told Soap Opera Digest that she loved seeing her character written in such a “smart and resourceful” way. She said, “I am. A lot of people underestimate Abby because of her past with The Naked Heiress but she’s really come into her own. Even though Devon was the one who said, ‘Hey, there’s something going on with Stitch,’ it was cool how she took it into her own hands. I like that she’s being written with the instinct of Victor Newman and the strength of Ashley Abbott. You would think that their kid would be on top of things, so I like how they’re writing Abby now.”
The Young and the Restless Comings And Goings: What’s Next For Abby?
When asked what else she would like to see happen for Abby, Melissa said, “To tell you the truth, I think she should open up her own detective agency. She’s really good about sorting out clues and getting to the truth. I think she’s got what it takes to be a great private investigator.”
