The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Chelsea Newman Is About To Butt Heads With Sally Spectra
In a new interview with Soap Opera Digest, Melissa Claire Egan teases some dramatic fun for her character Chelsea Newman in the coming weeks. The actress recently took a leave of absence as she and her husband Matt welcomed their first child together, a boy named Caden. If that weren’t enough, she also turned 40 and celebrated ten years on The Young and the Restless. Talk about an exciting milestone!
But now that Melissa is back and ready to work again, a lot of fans can’t help but wonder what’s next for her alter ego. Thankfully, she teased a little drama with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). Melissa said that before she left for maternity leave, The Young and the Restless Producer and Head Writer promised a great story for Chelsea upon her return. She said, “He didn’t tell me everything, no matter how much I nagged him, but he did share a couple of things before I left and one was about some headbutting with Sally.”
Melissa added that she’s had a blast working with Courtney Hope so far. She further explained, “I’ve been back a couple of weeks and it has been awesome. Courtney is wonderful and so much fun to work with. She’s a really good actor and we are very similar in that we are both overly prepared and love to run lines. I can’t wait for the fans to see us together. It’s good soapy stuff.”
