The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Devon’s Ego Spirals Out of Control – Who Will Stop Him?
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Devon Winters (Bryton James) has been acting like Old Man Winters lately. Everyone sees it but his loved ones have no clue how to get through to the guy.
Here are four things that could be plaguing Devon.
Imposter Syndrome
Devon inherited billions from Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) and still he’s unhappy. What has he done with his money lately? He could be changing the world and all he does is complain, judge and find fault everywhere he looks.
Is Devon suffering from imposter syndrome? It would make sense since he did nothing to earn his fortune. Plenty of people in his position feel that they don’t deserve their success or to be happy. It could be that he feels inferior and is lashing out as a result.
Jealousy
Devon has singled out his sister Lily Winters (Crystal Khalil) for being happy. He doesn’t like her seeing Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) but she’s an adult not a minor. His judgement was on full display last week when he discovered she and Cane reignited their romance.
Is Devon jealous because he’s sick of his marriage to Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway)? They got together as a result of an affair and it could be that Devon is seeing greener pastures somewhere else.
Male-o-pause
Devon is of a certain age where he could be going through mental and physical changes and have no clue what to do.
He’s always put up a brave façade and if his life feels unpredictable he could be burying his emotions making his stressful situation worse.
PTSD
Devon was a foster kid at one point and his life was far different than it is now. He’s blaming himself for Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) kidnapping his son Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Ethan Ray Clark) and that was a traumatic event for sure.
It could be that Devon’s reaction points to something unresolved in his past. If he experienced trauma as a boy, Dom’s kidnapping may have brought fear and confusion to the surface and he doesn’t know how to deal with it.
