The two parties have reached an out-of-court settlement in her sexual abuse lawsuit against him. And while no further details have been released, a lot of people want to know if Queen Elizabeth, who is worth an estimated $500 million, had anything to do with the payout. Here’s what you need to know.
Piers Morgan Raises Questions About Who Paid For Prince Andrew’s Settlement Money In Virginia Giuffre Case
While Andrew did not admit guilt in a statement announcing the settlement, he interestingly did say that he commends Giuffre and other survivors of sexual abuse for standing up for themselves. Giuffre has accused Prince Andrew of assaulting her on three separate occasions when she was 17. The Duke of York has denied all of the accusations that have been made against him.
Soon after the news was announced, Piers took to his Twitter account to write, “The British public is entitled to know who paid for Prince Andrew’s settlement given some of it may have come indirectly from taxpayer money. Outrageous if it’s true the Queen’s had to contribute towards silencing his accuser – how dare he put his mother in that position?”

Of course, it didn’t take very long for his fans and followers to respond. Many of them wrote, “This is why there’s no need for a royal family. It’s 2022, why put any family up on some sort of god like pedestal? They don’t do anything other than cut ribbons, smash champagne bottles on ships and wave at crowds. All while others, equally human, struggle. It’s antiquated,” along with, “Doesn’t all royal money come either directly or indirectly from the taxpayer? It’s not as if they would have ever earned this type of money without being born into the royal family.”
Another critic wrote, “Piers, the Queen is rich enough to contribute without resorting to tax money. She does have her own fortune. But I agree, she should not have paid one cent, and $12 millions is waaaaaay too much for a settlement.”
