General Hospital Spoilers: Could Nathan Be Lulu’s Path Back to Love with Dante?

General Hospital spoilers leak fans are furious right now at every implication that Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) and Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) might end up being anything more than friends while they wait for Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) to wake from her coma.

While the fans are in heated debate over whether this should happen at all, some are thinking the ends might justify the means. — especially if the end is a happy reunion between Maxie and Nathan.

But how likely is that with Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) on deck? Certainly, Spinelli would step to the side in an instant if he sensed Maxie just couldn’t snuff out her feelings for Nathan, but what if Nathan isn’t all that into Maxie anymore by the time she wakes up? Those are all good questions, and they keep deterring us from considering how this hook-up might also impact things on Lulu’s side.

What might Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) think about Lulu dipping her toes in Nathan’s pool while he bestie is fast asleep and teetering on the brink of needing a new heart? Things are about to get interesting.

Lulu and Nathan Get Closer

Lulu has been battling it out feeling pretty alone the last few months. Can anyone really blame her if she goes weak in the knees for a guy like Nathan? Maybe not a guy like Nathan but Nathan himself is her best friend’s husband, for all intents and purposes.

So yeah, they can blame her, and they will. But a few people might take more issue with Nathan than they will Lulu, and one of those people could be Dante, who has a vested interest in making sure the mother of his son doesn’t invite chaos or danger into their lives.

Nathan is More of a Threat Than Anyone Realizes

All of these questions about whether Nathan should move on with Lulu — or anyone — versus waiting on Maxie are coming from a place of accepting him as legitimate, which doesn’t really track with the rest of the storyline right now.

Given that Nathan is putting off clues that he might not be who he says he is, we may not have to wait for Maxie to wake up for this mystery to unfold.

Recall when Peter August (Wes Ramsey) stepped into Maxie’s life. It was all of his little missteps along the way that led to Maxie’s loved ones taking issue with him.

Likewise, we may see the same play out if Lulu starts snuggling with Nathan. Will Detective Dante start to question everything about Nathan, and will it be painted as legitimate concern, or a jealous ex-husband?

Have We Lost Lante?

Like it or not, we haven’t seen Dante and Lulu get anywhere near a reconciliation in recent months.

Her waking up from a coma was supposed to be the reunion we’ve been waiting for, but it fell flat on the heels of Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) dying and Dante not knowing how to feel about his ex-wife’s awakening at the same time.

Days turned into weeks turned into almost a year now and these two can’t seem to stay on the same page about their feelings, even though they’ve declared them to one another.

But seeing someone else creep into Lulu’s heart could be the spark that drives Dante to back in her direction, and if he suspects Nathan is anything but genuine, we know Dante won’t stand back and let anything happen to Lulu.
