General Hospital spoilers and updates for Thursday, May 23 tease ultimatums, defensive maneuvers, and quandaries. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) delivers an ultimatum, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) a defensive maneuver, and Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) is in a quandary.
General Hospital Spoilers: Finn’s Ultimatum
Finn’s streak of poor choices persists as he distances himself from Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst). Despite the presence of Violet Finn (Jophielle Love), he stubbornly clings to his drinking habit and seems to be pressuring Elizabeth to decide. He presents her with only two options – it’s up to her to choose.
When Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) informed Elizabeth about their father’s passing, she made it clear that Finn couldn’t continue drinking while Violet was living with him.
This led to a heated argument between Finn and Elizabeth, with Finn displaying a rather confrontational attitude.
GH Spoilers: Elizabeth Baldwin’s Call
Elizabeth stands outside the apartment building, talking on the phone about Finn and Violet-she makes it clear she’s not the one needed at the moment, likely addressing Chase.
She’s reassured that Finn wasn’t drunk in front of Violet, which was a concern of hers, but that isn’t solving the problem. Currently, Chase and Violet seem to be Finn’s sole family, although Elizabeth has legal rights as Violet’s aunt, and of course wants to protect her.
It sounds like Finn ended their relationship because of Elizabeth’s attempts to prevent him from falling back into addiction, even if it wasn’t alcohol-related previously.
Before, he was addicted to a street drug he was using for Blackwoods’ Syndrome, which he later found a cure for-still, an addiction is an addiction.
General Hospital Spoilers: Alexis’ Defensive Maneuver
Finn finds himself desperately needing someone to knock some sense into him but the only one who could isn’t available.
Unfortunately, she’s caught up in a gripping courtroom drama in Albany; Fergus Byrne (Lane Davies) has made an unexpected appearance in the courtroom. He’s determined to prevent Alexis from getting her law license back, blaming her entirely for the tragic deaths of his two brothers.
Fergus is relentless in his accusations, pointing fingers at Alexis and her alleged “disregard for the law”. In a bold move, Alexis challenges Fergus to prove his claims by revealing the name of her accuser; in reality, Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) killed both younger Byrne brothers.
GH Spoilers: Kristina’s Quandary
Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez)and Kristina find themselves in Blaze’s suite at the Metro Court, engaging in a heartfelt conversation about recent events.
Kristina is clearly conflicted, unsure whether or not to reveal what she now knows about her father, having witnessed Dex Heller’s (Evan Hofer) beating.
It was a harsh awakening for her, witnessing Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) darker side. Many of Sonny’s loved ones have turned a blind eye to this aspect of his personality, seeing him only through rose-tinted glasses.
However, Kristina has now had her blinders removed, and she admits to Blaze that she too is guilty of making excuses for Sonny.
General Hospital Spoilers: Dex Is Also Conflicted
It’s obvious Dex himself is also conflicted, asking Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) in her office if he’s tarnishing his badge before even putting it on!
Before, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) had a discussion with Dex about the assault witnessed by Kristina, where Sonny was involved. They all felt it was important to shield Kristina, who is pregnant, from the stress of testifying against Sonny.
Dex is now questioning Anna about whether this choice is undermining his own principles as a police officer, even though it is made to prioritize the safety of a pregnant woman.
It’s undoubtedly a moral dilemma for Dex and he’s asking Anna-he can’t hide the fact it happened, his eye is still swollen together.
GH Spoilers: Carly Spencer Pays Sonny Another Visit
Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is once again attempting to reason with Sonny, desperately trying to make him see sense.
Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) who saved Dex’s life in the beating can clearly see that Sonny is in trouble without his medication, despite Sonny’s claims of taking them regularly.
Carly even attempted to get some pills, when in his penthouse but Ava Jerome (Maura West) intervened and stopped her. Nevertheless, Carly managed to calm Sonny down after Dex’s attack.
Now, everyone close to Sonny is aware that something is not right, and Carly questions him about his next move once he runs out of traitors?
