The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Danny Came Back For Christine, So Why is She With Paul in Portugal?
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that a fabulous Friday cliffhanger episode revealed that Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) is in Portugal with Paul Williams (Doug Davidson).
That was sad news to Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian). But, also last week Bell announced on her social media that alum Tricia Cast is back as Christine’s bestie Nina Webster, indicating an upcoming story for Christine. Let’s unpack what is going on here!
The Young and the Restless spoilers: Danny is Back
Christine Blair aka ‘Cricket’ in her younger days, had quite the history with Danny back in the day. The character debuted in 1983 as a teen model, and eventually became a lawyer and Genoa City’s DA.
The actress was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2016.
Christine and Danny were married for four years, with unsavory Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) coming between them. Christine later married Paul Williams (Doug Davidson).
In 1990 Christine married rock star Danny but he cheated on her with a stan, Phyllis Summers. Red later claimed to be pregnant with the rocker’s son, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei). Although it was later proven that Daniel is not Danny’s biological son they have maintained a father-son bond for life.
Y&R Spoilers: Is Christine Leaving Genoa City?
Fast forward to 2013 when Paul and Christine remarried after Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) memorial service. Katherine left Paul a letter in which she told him to marry Christine and they did so the day of the memorial.

But this year Christine made it known that she and Paul were no longer on the same page. Paul was also replaced by Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd) as the Police Chief.
Amid all the changes, Paul went to Portugal to spend time with his daughter Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom), who is now back in Genoa City, Wisconsin.
Why all the incongruency in storylines? It probably has something to do with the recent WGA writer’s strike, which saw union writers replaced by newbies.
As a result daytime dramas went on a roller coaster ride with plotlines helter-skelter for months. Last week the strike ended and fans are hopeful that continuity returns.

In the meantime, we have Christine trying to reconcile with Paul, with Heather back in GC trying to reconcile with Daniel, while Cricket’s true love Danny is also back in town.
