The Young and the Restless Star Camryn Grimes Opens Up About Her Favorite Y&R Storyline

In a new interview with Daytime Confidential, Camryn made it no secret that she has plenty of great memories when it comes to working on the set of The Young and the Restless with the cast and crew. But when asked what her favorite storyline is, she said, “I think the two stories that will follow me gladly, wherever I go, will be Cassie’s death and Mariah’s coming out. Both were extremely tough, but rewarding stories that had a massive impact on the fans. People will still come up to me and be like, ‘Oh my God, I cried so hard when Cassie died.’”

Camryn continued, “I mean, Cassie’s been dead for a while now! It’s an iconic story that was handled so beautifully. People don’t even realize I didn’t really do that much acting. I got to lie in bed for a few months. It was really on the shoulders of Josh [Morrow, Nick], Sharon [Case, Sharon], Melody [Thomas Scott, Nikki], and Eric [Braeden, Victor] just portraying such beautiful, raw emotions and grief. I know it really deeply impacted a lot of people. Then, Mariah’s coming out story was one where, as Bryton said it best, you want a story that you can sink your teeth into and that’s going to be impactful, challenging, and rewarding. That story for me was a huge moment as an actor and a human being!”

She said, “It’s changed the fabric of my life, being a part of the show the first time and the second time. The ability to play these two characters has allowed me to explore different sides of myself and who I am. I’m just truly, truly honored to be sitting here at the 50th while I’m 25 years into my career. I can’t think of anything better!”
