General Hospital Spoilers UPDATE Thursday, April 20: Tearful Promises, Grudging Acceptance, Unfair Choices

General Hospital spoilers and updates for Thursday, April 20 tease tearful promises, grudging acceptance and unfair choices. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) makes a tearful promise, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) grudgingly accepts, and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) feels the pain of unfair choices.

General Hospital Spoilers: Trying To Trigger

Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) had a lightbulb moment when he realized people sometimes remember more than they think they do. He tries to trigger memories in Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) likely about an old Navy project he was involved in, Operation Demeter. Drew had speculated that the coordinates on the Ice Princess necklace had something in common with the location of the secret operation.

Curtis tells Drew, who’s holding his head like he’s getting a headache straining his brain that he has to remember, Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) life depends on it. Drew will do his best because he wants Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) taken down and the hostages rescued as much as anyone else.

GH Spoilers: Tearful Promises

Portia is clearly discouraged and scared to death she’ll never see her daughter again as Ava Jerome (Maura West) has rushed to the hospital. She had found out from Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) that Trina was a stowaway on The Haunted Star, and rushed to Portia’s side to support her and to get updates. Portia cries as she promises Ava that she’ll never see them again, the “them” possibly being the pieces of art she so loved and that Ava had mentored her on. Portia is extremely discouraged and fearful, and given the situation that’s taken place on The Haunted Star, she has every right to be.

General Hospital Spoilers: Spencer Cassadine’s Bad News

Spencer gets more bad news from Victor but right now seeing Ambrose (Charles Ambrose) bring in a captured Trina is bad enough. He tries to be positive, knowing she is responsible for cutting the electrical cord in the engine room that might bring the ship to a stop. Victor no doubt doesn’t like Spencer telling her that she may have saved their lives.

Trina looks angry and scared at the same time, not liking being manhandled by the Cassadine bodyguard. Spencer no doubt is already plotting her rescue in his head and trying to figure out how to keep her safe.

GH Spoilers: Ned Quartermaine’s On A Rant

Ned Quartermaine’s (Wally Kurth) on a rant back in Port Charles at the Quartermaine mansion, as he vents to Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton). He tells her the longer “he” stays silent, the worse it looks, but who knows what he’s upset about this time? There’s not a whole lot Brook Lynn can do to convince someone to speak up about something if he doesn’t want to. Ned may just be butting his nose in somewhere it doesn’t belong in the first place.

General Hospital Spoilers: Grudging Acceptance

Back on the Haunted Star, Victor appears to be happy but Liesl, not so much. She’s stubborn as ever as he tells her he knew she’d rise to the challenge. Liesl grudgingly accepts Victor’s demand for her to create a vaccine for the pathogen he intends to release on half of mankind. He wants everyone exterminated except Cassadines and others who don’t oppose him, and a small remnant of others he can control.

That is because he is not just intent on population control, but also on world domination. He shouldn’t get too happy because Liesl’s the only one who understands what she’s formulating and she might shoot him up with poison!

GH Spoilers: Unfair Choices

At Wyndemere, where Ava rushed off to comfort Portia and left Carly babysitting Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Ava or Grace Scarola) Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) has shown up. No doubt she feels Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) choice to go to Michael and Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) wedding without her is unfair. Carly, on the other hand is happy as she tells Nina that Sonny is finally choosing to put his family ahead of her! Nina may feel it’s unfair but if she tries to tell him it’s wrong then she might lose him, so she will just have to adjust.
