Queen Elizabeth Won’t Be Returning To Buckingham Palace Anytime Soon
It looks like she’s not coming back to London anytime soon. There’s a new report that says Queen Elizabeth has decided to ditch Buckingham Palace, which has been her main residence for the last seven decades. Instead, she’ll be calling Windsor Castle her permanent home from now on. Here’s what you need to know.

No one can blame her for wanting a change of scenery, right? The decision to leave Buckingham Palace could also be due in part that there are ongoing and extensive renovations going on that are expected to continue until 2027.
“Windsor is the place she loves. She has her memories with Prince Philip there, she has her ponies there and family nearby. It makes sense.” royal author Hugo Vickers told The Sunday Times.
If there’s one person who won’t be visiting the Queen at Windsor Castle anytime soon, it’s her grandson, Prince Harry. According to the Daily Mail, it’s highly unlikely that Harry will return to the UK unless he absolutely has to. Even though it’s Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum year, there’s a chance Harry and Meghan won’t be on hand for all of the celebrations and that’s because of all the secrets he’s about to spill in his book, according to royal expert Tom Bower.

He put it this way, “I think Harry won’t come back because he knows he cannot face his family, and be pleasant with them, knowing what he’s written about them in that book. That book will have a lot of casualties and cause a lot of hurt. It will really deliver, as Harry knows it has to, to justify the money he’s been paid to do it. How can Harry come back and pretend it’s all fine? The worst of what he will say is yet to come.”
Meanwhile, Harry’s lawyer, Shaheed Fatima, said the prince “does not feel safe when he is in the U.K. given the security arrangements applied to him.” The prince is legally challenging the U.K. government’s policy that he cannot pay for personal protection from the country’s police force when he travels back to his homeland.
