Yes, Victor was in the wrong, and Nikki’s desire to protect herself from his hurtful behavior was justified. Yet, as viewers have seen many times before, their retreat to stubborn corners didn’t help matters.
That’s where Claire’s first-time experience with a Victor-Nikki separation was important.
Victor Newman Knows What Is Most Important
The love Victor has for Nikki can’t be measured in worth. Unlike a Newman Enterprises profit and loss spreadsheet, there is no way to quantify what Nikki’s value is in his life.
Everything changed when Victor saw Nikki at The Bayou decades ago. He knew from the first moment he met her that she was different than any other woman he’d known.
This love story has defined Y&R throughout the years, with Victor and Nikki’s adventures, family creation, and battles being part of this soap opera’s allure.
Credit to the writing staff for creating a believable rift and repair pathway. That’s not easy to do this many episodes into a love story.
Nikki Newman’s Blindness Timeline Indefinite
Victoria, Claire, and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) told Nikki that she might regain her sight within a matter of weeks. Devoted viewers sense that her plight will be utilized to the maximum degree, with months probably being the timeline.
With Nikki back at the Ranch and Victor having returned to doting rather than being disgusted with his misconception of her admiration for Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), all can be well in Newmanland.
But the audience is aware of Jack’s critical condition and must believe that Nikki will become aware of it.
No matter, Victor’s sense of balance has been restored. He made sure she had the best available doctor.
But the love of Nikki’s life knows that he doesn’t have control over whether she will see again. That setup is great and will lead to many heartwarming scenes this summer and possibly into the fall.
