The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers: Katie’s Next Line Isn’t A Sure Hit – Logan Takes Major Risk
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Katie Logan Spencer (Heather Tom) has accumulated a team of castoffs.
Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) reversion to Forrester Creations’ ranks created a unique dilemma that she hopes to solve by poaching.
Technically, Katie is living within the lines of the handshake agreement she and her oldest sister shared.
Hiring Brooke Logan Forrester’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) daughter doesn’t violate the Forrester clause because she’s a Logan and a Spencer.
Of course, Brooke won’t see it that way and will understandably be upset. Katie anticipates that outburst and doesn’t care because she not only needs Logan to have a good second act, but it’s vital.
Eric Forrester’s Line Did Well
The past-tense nature of this subject header underscores that the fashion game is all about today.
What have you done for me lately is what’s important, rather than how good yesterday was.
The fleeting, some might say shallow and fickle nature, of this surface-deep business means that a steady stream of hits must keep rolling.
Logan was the beneficiary of millions of dollars of free publicity due to the controversial nature of Eric presenting a line for FC’s upstart rival.
But Katie’s next line won’t have Eric’s gravitas behind it. She’s going with a young, inexperienced, and unproven commodity in Deke Sharpe (Harrison Cone). While talented, he has no cache, and that’s going to matter.
Deke Sharpe’s Work Is Developing
Any creative artist, except true prodigies, needs many years of experience. Working under a mentor, or at the foot of a master like Eric, would be ideal.
But Deke merely has his mind and desire to drive him. Katie is reliant on him because she wasn’t able to secure a seasoned designer.
Hope’s addition to Logan’s staff will provide recognition and a level of buzz in the industry.
But the bottom line will be whether Deke’s designs are acceptable to the fashion press, those in the field, and buyers, be they corporate or the general public.
Katie noted that some changes needed to be made, but that other elements of his work were good. Through the screen, the models wore clothing that was similar in blue shades and wasn’t overly eye-catching.
Logan’s Future To Be Determined
Logan is on the map. The first pop was big and worked.
Whether Katie can take that super success and build on it is to be determined. She has the drive, but created enemies in her cross-town rival fashion house.
FC is preparing for its next line, which leads with Eric’s work and is supported by Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), Zende Forrester (Delon de Metz), and RJ Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti). Logan can’t compete with that generational team.
So, Katie will be hoping, soapy pun intended, that daytime lightning strikes again.
