Things could have looked very different in this fictional town of Los Angeles. That’s because there’s a new report that says this one current The Young and the Restless star almost took on the role of Thomas Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful. Well, color us surprised on this one but it turns out that Mark Grossman was almost a cast member of B&B! According to Soap Opera News, Mark, who plays Adam Newman on Y&R, was very close to being bad boy Thomas before he got the role in Genoa City.
The Bold and the Beautiful casting director Christy Dooly revealed, “He tested for us. Mark came in and read for the role of Thomas Forrester, and he was my choice for the role. The role wound up going to Matthew Atkinson.”
She added, “But then Mark came down to read for The Young and the Restless.”
Of course, many soap fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media.
Some even commented with, “Yeah he’s so good as Adam. I could see him doing well as Thomas too, but Adam has had a lot of recasts within the last few years. I think Mark has been the best so far.”

Another critic wrote, “I really liked MM in the role a lot. I was very sorry to learn why he was let go. He really flushed out bad boy Adam but had tender memorable scenes with Sharon that endeared me to him too.”
And then there was this comment as well: “I do think MG is great in the role of Adam and he’s had some great storylines when he was more bad boy Adam. I think Connor’s storyline and the Sally/Ava storyline gave him a chance to show a different range so that was nice for him.”
