The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Victor Shows Mercy To Phyllis As Nick Starts Believing
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) visit with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was encouraging. Their meeting in the living room at the Newman Ranch was not about business.
Victor could see that Phyllis was genuinely concerned about his oldest son’s well-being. He thanked her for saving Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) life and meant it.
Her subsequent meeting with Nick at the Genoa City Athletic Club began similarly.
They embraced, Nick explained how Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) provided the illegal drugs, and thanked her for saving his life. But then their conversation turned to a threat.
Newman Enterprises Remains In Phyllis Summers’ Grip
Phyllis told Victor that Nick was the father of her daughter, Summer Newman (last played by Allison Lanier), and that she will always love Nick. Fans’ ears perked up because that off-screen character’s name has been referenced multiple times in recent months.
Summer’s name was mentioned again when Nick asked Phyllis not to tell her about him nearly dying. She agreed to let him relay that painful news on his terms.
It didn’t seem like an emotional ploy when Victor didn’t include wanting his company back when meeting with Phyllis at the Ranch.
However, Nick told Phyllis that she knowingly harbored a criminal, and that could be used against her as a means of forcibly relinquishing control of the company she renamed Summers Conglomerate.
Summer Newman Is A Factor In Family Resolution?
It would be great if Lanier could rejoin the cast. She’s a good actor who offered a fine interpretation of a role that Hunter King (Summer Newman) played for many years.
However, it could be that Nick’s and Phyllis’ daughter has been mentioned on multiple occasions because a recast is happening. That would make soap sense and add the potential of a resolution scenario.
Summer returns from Italy and becomes the central figure in healing the rift between her mother’s and father’s families.
Phyllis wanted her and Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) to be integral parts of Summers’ Conglomerate, but they’ve rejected that intended gift and want no part of their mother’s ill-gotten gains.
Phyllis is inclined to listen to Summer if she returns and makes a conditioned overture to her that includes returning the company to her grandfather, Victor.
Nick Newman Doesn’t Recognize New Matt Clark
Learning that Matt saved his life shocked Nick. But he still wasn’t certain that Howarth’s character was being honest.
Nick’s perspective changed when he, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), and Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) took him to Noah Newman’s (Lucas Adams) replica bar, The Shadow Room. Matt’s psychological collapse was riveting and changed Nick’s mind. He’s a believer in Matt’s amnesia and the effect the return of his memory has had.
Multiple daytime events are colliding in what is a sensational set of performances, with Howarth’s and Morrow’s work especially noteworthy. It appears that the audience will continue to be treated to more of the same as Matt’s plot path remains open.
