General Hospital Spoilers: Cody’s Curiosity Could Kick Up Dust in Dante’s Cold Heart
General Hospital spoilers reveal Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) really put Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) on the spot last week when he asked his best pal how he knew that Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) was “the one.” I can’t speak for everyone else out there watching, but I was instantly wondering whether Dante would
internalize that as wondering why Cody asked about when he knew about his first wife, and not about the more recent love of his life that he had proposed to — Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).
Nevertheless, Cody’s questions could hit Dante in just the right way to make him think back on old times and wonder where he went wrong.
Why Not Sam?
How was Lulu the catalyst for this conversation? Cody didn’t even know her until she woke up from the coma. In contrast, he was pretty chummy with Sam.
Yet when he thought to ask Dante about his own personal journey toward marriage, he only thought to ask the woman he was able to close the deal with. That might make sense had he and Sam broke things off and not worked out, but her death cut things short.
GH Spoilers Say the Tables Have Turned…Somehow
This part was confusing for me, honestly. When Nathan asked Dante if they were cool, with regard to him dating Lulu, the newly minted Police Commish rambled on about how he would love to be able to blame anyone but himself for “missing his chance” with Lulu.
What gives? Since when is Lulu someone Dante lost? That might’ve been true years ago, and he may have even felt that the WSB stole that life away from him, even if it looked like he was the one who abandoned it.
But last Spring, Lulu would’ve been ready to try again had Dante been able to pull himself together. He was cold to her then, and now he’s kicking himself for losing her?
A Wake-Up Call?
No one could blame Dante for not being ready to confess his love for Lulu when she woke up from a four-year-long coma in the immediate wake of Sam’s death. He was going to be grieving for a long time, and he never would have asked Lulu to wait around for him to heal.
Furthermore, he was quite angry with her for a while — first, irrationally over Sam’s death following donating part of her liver to Lulu; second, more rationally because of her involvement in Giovanni ‘Gio’ Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) finding out he was adopted. But thinking Lulu was on some theoretical back-burner might have made Dante drag his feet a bit.
Now, he’s talking about having missed the boat with Lulu while Nathan moves on and takes his spot. With Cody pushing buttons Dante hasn’t been forced to face in years, will he come to realize he isn’t so cool with Nathan dating Lulu after all — because he wants her all to himself?
