General Hospital Spoilers: Will Nathan Solve Drew's Shooting Mystery to Score His Job Back?

General Hospital spoilers gush Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) has wasted no time in going after what he wants since he got back to Port Charles. In fact, many fans got the impression he was chasing after something the night he got into that accident that landed him at GH.

He wasn’t out of the hospital bed for more than a day before he stopped by Police Commissioner Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) office to talk shop.

He wants his job back, but Anna considers him a liability since he can’t remember anything about his life since the moment he got shot.

Fair enough, but Nathan’s going to have to find something to do with himself in the meantime.

We already see him leaning into Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) case and influencing her decisions. He has a nose for these things, and he’s going to use it — even if it’s off the clock without a badge. But will this be how he earns his boy in blue status back?

Drew and Michael Complicate Matters

Nathan might find himself intent on getting to the bottom of who shot Drew, but that doesn’t mean anyone is going to make it easy — and that includes the victim! Bent on making sure Michael pays for what Drew suspects he has done to Willow, it’s hard to say what kind of lies he plans to spin to make it look like Michael framed his ex-wife for attempted murder just to get her out of their kids’ lives.

Meanwhile, Michael is shoring up his own fake alibi and going to great lengths to cover his tracks in setting Willow up to take this fall — which still doesn’t necessarily mean she didn’t do it. Nathan is going to have his work cut out for him here.

GH Spoilers Say This is More Than a Job

If we’re really dealing with the real Nathan here — a sad truth I have to interject because we just don’t know — then it’s common sense that he isn’t going to handle his reintroduction into his family without a few hiccups.

Meeting his son for the first time and knowing how much he has missed has to weigh heavily, and knowing Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is in a coma and there is nothing he can do about it only compounds that matter.

His family is missing in action, so he might go looking for something else to spend his time on just to stay out of his own head, which again, could be completely brainwashed.

A Dangerous Detective?

On the other hand, if Nathan isn’t Nathan, and this is some machiavellian plot twist designed to make us question everything and everyone, it’s working.

If Nathan isn’t the good old boy we remember and he’s just someone doing a very good job of pretending, then every move he makes is a dangerous one. Spending time with James West (Gary James Fuller) is a risk.

Getting close to Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), Nina, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), and Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening is potentially dangerous.

But ultimately, proving himself by solving this mystery and getting his badge back is the real flex — and possibly the whole point.

If Nathan is some imposter sent to wreak havoc, imagine what they can do as a part of the PCPD force? Will Anna be able to pinpoint any problems with Nathan before it’s too late? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.

[…] It goes without saying that General Hospital fans certainly did have a lot to say about the matter on social media. The possibilities certainly are endless. After all, Nina is a very beautiful, smart, and talented woman. […]

[…] Some even commented with, “It makes no sense that Jack is not keeping Britt and grilling her about what she knows.” […]
