Did The Young and the Restless Star Daniel Goddard Make This Huge Mistake In His Soap Career?
Did Daniel Godddard make a huge mistake in his soap career? That’s what some The Young and the Restless can’t help but wonder as it’s been several long years since he’s last been on the canvas. Keep reading below to find out everything you need to know.
Did Daniel Goddard Make This Huge Mistake In His Soap Career?
Back in 2021, Daniel hinted that he wanted to return to The Young and the Restless. He recalled that he pleaded with Josh Griffith, the show’s co-executive producer, and head writer, and former executive producer Tony Morina “that there was so much story” for Cane to play after Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) died. Well, fast forward two years later and it seems like no one is willing to continue telling Cane’s story.
That same year Daniel admitted that he auditioned for the role of EJ DiMera on Days of Our Lives. At the time he said that “it was in the works,” but that there was also a catch. He said, “And then there was the situation where Days may not have been picked up, so what happened is it only would have been a four-week commitment.”
Daniel added that he was very busy that time and “it was too much of a pivot to do something that may pull me away from where I was at this time without any payout of a long-term thing,” he recalled. That’s because he was in the middle of launching his now-defunct DYSKO app.
That said, Daniel also revealed that he would be willing to come back to the daytime television realm, but only under one certain condition. He said, “I would very much entertain it. It would have to be some different circumstances now based on the way the whole thing came to an end. Which is like a chapter out of Eric Braeden or Jeannie Cooper’s tell-all book.”
The Young and the Restless News: What Happened To Daniel Goddard?
Now, whether or not the producers of The Young and the Restless actually do want him to come back is another question by itself. So far it doesn’t appear as though Daniel is getting the call backs that he was probably hoping for by this time. So, does that mean his soap career is officially over? Maybe, maybe not.
