General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny’s Solidarity The Beginning of Rocco’s Tailspin into Darkness?
General Hospital spoilers tease Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) made a major move this week in letting his grandson, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), know he’s not alone.
Would any grandfather do any different when looking out for the arms of their family tree? Rocco is one of the most gentle kids to ever hit the streets of Port Charles, and Sonny is one of the first people to praise him.
But seeing him with injuries from being roughed up in jail didn’t land well for any of the people who love him.
Sonny was quick to make sure Rocco knows he’s in his corner, and it’s making some viewers wonder whether this could become a pivot point for Rocco that makes him start to crave the one thing he has lacked in his childhood: power.
Confidence Suits Rocco
When Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) and Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) went to see Rocco in jail, the kid downplayed the blood and bruises on his face like a pro.
He kept telling his mom he was okay, almost as though he was giving a pass to the person who did this to him. We don’t have names yet, if he even knows.
Regardless, Lulu didn’t have time to concern herself with why Rocco was acting like his injuries weren’t a big deal as she was more focused on figuring out how to get him out of there.
Nathan came to her rescue on that front, but was Sonny the real hero in Rocco’s eyes?
GH Spoilers Leak Sonny’s Support Means the World
When Sonny told Rocco that someone messing with his grandson is someone messing with a Corinthos and therefore is someone messing with him — the mob boss extraordinaire — he meant it.
Sonny will back his family to the ends of the Earth, and Rocco ending up on the receiving end of someone’s fist could be a turning point for him. Feeling powerless in a jail cell was rock bottom.
We could see him get out of jail and start to seek power in any way he can, and that path forward might start with cozying up to his grandfather a bit more.
Could Rocco Be the Next Sonny?
If you’ve been watching long enough, you know Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was never going to be the son that Sonny needed to take over the business someday.
Moreover, Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) might be a bit edgier and willing to break the rules to suit his own desires, but he’s not down with murder and the mafia the same way his pops is.
Rocco is young and more malleable, and given all that he has lost, suddenly having someone so powerful on his side just might appeal to him in a dangerous way moving forward.
Would Sonny embrace Rocco if he turned dark, and would he encourage it — even if it means losing his own son in trade for his grandson and an heir to the business? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.

If writers don’t want Rocco to spin into darkness it won’t occur. I also don’t feel Rocco has what it takes to become involved in Sonny’s world nor is Danny. Due to the change in actors, I feel Michael would/should carry the mantle when Sonny/Jason decide to truly call it quits.
