Prince Andrew's Fresh Shame: Netflix Unveils Interview Film Details

2025 might have just been the year Prince Andrew has kept his head down the most since that disastrous 2019 interview, and yet he keeps making the headlines.

The first time was in relation to the Chinese spy incident, and this new one harkens back to his involvement with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

It’s especially sensitive it should be getting ready to release now, as it hasn’t been that long since his principal accuser Virginia Giuffre died from suicide. But that’s showbusiness for ya.

Nevertheless, here’s the scoop.

What Will Netflix’s Upcoming ‘Scoop’ Be About?

The cast for Netflix’s ‘Scoop’ has just been released. Per the details, the film will revolve around the Newsnight interview that fantastically backfired on the Prince who gave it.

But if you think the original is done bringing shame to the Duke, wait until Netflix gathers a handful of competent stars to recreate it for the amusement of their fans.

On top of that, the Emmy and BAFTA-winning director Philip Martin promises drama and tension that fans can sink their teeth into.

He said: “Up-tempo, immersive and cinematic, I want to put the audience inside the breathtaking sequence of events that led to the interview with Prince Andrew – to tell a story about a search for answers, in a world of speculation and varying recollections.”

“It’s a film about power, privilege and differing perspectives and how – whether in glittering palaces or hi-tech newsrooms – we judge what’s true.”

‘Scoop’ is billed as “the inside track of the women that broke through the Buckingham Palace establishment to secure the scoop of the decade… spotlighting the journalists whose tenacity and guts broke through the highest of ceilings.”

Gillian Anderson will play interviewer Emily Maitlis, alongside Rufus Sewell, who has been cast in the role of Prince Andrew, and Billie Piper who landed the part of former BBC producer Sam McAlister.

The film is also based on certain chapters from McAlister’s memoir, ‘Scoops: Behind the Scenes of the BBC’s Most Shocking Interviews,’ so there’s plenty of first-hand account at Netflix’s disposal.
