General Hospital Spoilers: Is Jonathan Jackson Getting Fired?
As many of our readers are already aware of, Jonathan Jackson is best known for his role as Lucky Spencer. However, he has been temporarily recast with his replacement, Guy Wilson.
But of course, not everyone is on board with this idea. That, and they don’t like the fact that General Hospital is the one soap that keeps hiring temporary actors to do the job. Some critics think it’s happening a little too often.

A lot of General Hospital fans would agree that the scenes were very powerful and even gave credit to actors Rebecca Herbst and Jeff Kober for knocking it out of the park. Viewers have even said that it was a shame that Jonathan was not a part of the scenes as they were so pivotal for his character and the storyline as well.

Since JJ signed a multiyear contract in 2024 when he returned, it’s highly unlikely that he’s going to be released already. Odds are that he had a prior commitment that needed to be cleared up that was approved during his negotiations.
Being heavly storyline driven, we need the charecter of Lucky right now. But frankly it wouldn’t bother me in the least were they to recast the part permanently. I’ve never cared for JJ, I never thought he was a very good actor and even more so now. His filthy head of hair and whatever that is on his face looks nasty and disgusting. And he and Liz look rediculas together.
You obviously don’t know good acting. JJ is one if the absolute best. And also one of the best looking. And get over it about his hair. It’s not dirty. It has hair product in it. Maybe it’s the way he likes it. He probably wouldn’t like yours either. 🙄
Niky’s reply was just a matter of opinion of which you differ and we all have a right to discuss our views on this platform. But the personal hit to Niky was out of place in my opinion.
Agree 💯 The force feeding of couples is getting ridiculous. No chemistry in these couples is definitely resulting in abysmal ratings along with retread pathetic storylines.
Too bad the writers couldn’t have Elizabeth do anything to help in the fight between Lucky and Cyrus. She called 911. That’s it? Why didn’t she grab that lamp and smash it against Cyrus’ head? Or actually get into the physical fight itself?
I understand that Cyrus needed to escape, but Elizabeth could’ve done something other than be on the phone.
Oh give me a break! He could be sick, or his wife or one of his kids might have gotten hurt and needed him home (which is Nashville). There’s also the fires that could make it difficult for him to fly back in. Any number of things could have happened! Stop trying to make every little thing into some huge conspiracy, or dramatic conflict behind the scenes. 🙄

T E M P O R A R Y folks! I guess a majority of GH fans don’t have a stable education under themselves. The word, temporary means just that: only for a BRIEF period (episodes), so relax. Jonathan Jackson will be back very soon. He is the man who originated the role of Lucky. So, why in the world would anyone think he’s being fired? Absolutely ridiculous! So very happy that Cyrus is gone too: who would have EVER thought that Joss would be the one to do it! WOW! GH fan forever from NJ.
Whether the Lucky character is not of essence to me. I feel the character was brought back to canvas but really hasn’t had an affect on any story line. Bringing back past characters would be of interest to fans, but bringing them back their story line not be of interest is just a waste of the actor’s and viewer’s time in my opinion.
