Something just doesn’t make sense here. A lot of General Hospital fans are making it pretty clear that they are none too pleased over the fact that actress Kelly Monaco has been fired.

To make matters worse, the producers have announced that they have hired a new actor, Emmanuel Jalbert, only 24 hours after they announced that Kelly was pink slipped from the show. And for a lot of critics, they believe that the timing is all wrong.
Kelly has been playing the character Sam McCall for over 21 years, which makes her departure even more controversial for all of the fans who have loved her throughout the years.
And let’s just say that a lot of people feel very emotional about this.
Some have even taken to social media to comment on the matter with, “You fire Kelly and then we get THIS??? C’mon @GeneralHospital – why do u hate your fans so much that you don’t listen to what they’re telling u guys? Wake up.”
Another critic wrote, “So ur firing Kelly but hiring all these people we don’t care about so u can get residuals for creating characters when ABC eventually lets u go.”

“Too bad GH is gonna get canceled cause you ruined it and then tanked it by killing off Sam.”
And then there was this comment as well: “Imagine being told you’re fired and still having to finish filming. I don’t know which is worse, that, or finishing your last scene, and waiting for your next script that never comes.”
“It’s amazing to me that they would fire such a beloved character with countless fans who adore her and her character. She is a total sweetheart. They used her for the return of Steve Burton, and then fired her?”
So far Kelly Monaco herself has not made any comments about the matter although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said. Watch this space.

I myself am not surprised I was just thinking the other day she has no story line her character has become boring so for me she won’t be missed
I have been thinking the same thing for a while. The pairing with Dante also had no chemistry
And it’s the writers fault because they won’t give her a story line. I love Sam and after she is gone I think I just may stop watching GH. Just too many of my favorites have been fired. And you are hiring people I never even heard of.
“They used her for the return of Steve Burton”??? How do you figure that? Steve/Jason has connections to many other characters and his return was/is awesome with or without Sam. I love Kelly and it sucks that they did this to her, but let’s not start trying to blame Steve, or the return of Lucky or Ric. Fact is, unless we were there, we have no clue what goes on behind the scenes or in heads of TPTB who make some of these lame a ss decisions that they’re making. Somewhere in their weird little brains, it makes sense to fire a much loved, talented, beautiful, 20 + year cast member, and kill off her pivotal character who has family ties, and relationships with over half the other characters on the show…while having characters like Natalia, Drew, Cates, TJ, Molly, Stella, Marshall, Jordan, to name a few, that very few would miss. And I just read about 3 new hires and never heard of any of them.
Never heard of this new hire of GH before. Instead of making a story line for the new people just make one for Kelly. You let Blaze go and keep her mother who is new to PC was looking to see how things worked out for Kristina with Blaze. I’m really considering to stop watching altogether. All you veteran actors on GH better watch out there’re coming for you next. I bet they want a show with all young people.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. Keeping Natalie instead of Blaze stupid move.
There is so much dead meat on the show who should be blown out. Plus the newcomers who gives a damn as we’re interested in characters who kept our interest. If this crap continues I might have to stop watching
I agree. But Eva Larue (sp?) is a veteran. Possibly more pull than the actress who portrayed Blaze?

General hospital should be boycotted by not watching so the ratings will certainly fall! I hate these piss ass writers! How dare they do Kelly like this! They don’t care about the viewer’s and to hire someone else after firing Kelly is a smack in the face!
She really hasn’t had much of a story for quite awhile, although killing her off will be tragic for her children. Apparently the writers want Dante and Lulu back together. But if they are firing to hire new people, I agree Natalia should have gone with Blaze. I like Trina, but she could go unless they bring back Spencer. She has no story now either. And Portia could go just because I don’t like her character. lol. What about Marshall? No story for him either unless they plan a romance with Stella!
I agree that the writers and producers are not listening! First. Get rid of Cates! His superiors need to show up and pull his reigns in. Next, send Kristina off to follow Blaze instead of making her crazy. Get rid of Molly and TJ.
Let Sam and Dante stay together. There is no reason to bring Lulu back if it’s not the original Lulu
We watch the show because we are invested in our characters!’n YOU ARE RUINING THE SHOW!!! WE DONT NEED NEW WE WANT OUR OLD FAVORITES! ITS CHANGING THE DYNAMICS! You really don’t care about the fans Just like Lu Lu we love her she does not need to be recast!!!
I think it’s horrible and disrespectful to have Sam killed off. She has 2 children that really need her. Kelly Monaco is a main character that needs to stay!!!! Shame on the writers!!!
Very Very BAD move GH and Frank Valentini by getting rid of Kelly/Sam. She is a beloved actress and character. You guys bring in new characters that are meaningless. The show needed to give Kelly a juicy plot instead of putting her out to pasture. In my opinion, Natalia could go and creepy Drew can go as well. I do not like these turn of events at all. If the show loses viewership, it is Frank’s fault. We all know he has his favorites. I cannot believe this is happening to her. Kelly is one of my favorite actresses on GH.
It’s disgusting what you did to Kelly I’m sure most people and definitely fans of hers will not be watching GH when she is gone. Reconsider!!!
