The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Nick And Matt Die In Las Vegas? – Riza Is Adam’s Best Hope

The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Nick And Matt Die In Las Vegas? - Riza Is Adam's Best HopeThe Young and the Restless spoilers document that Riza Thompson (Tina Casciani) cares about Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), not Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). That should give Adam the edge he needs to help his brother, whose life is in danger.

Matt and Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) kidnapping trade-off continued in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sensing that something was off, Matt lay in wait for Adam to arrive in his suite and found that Nick came in his place.

Nick woke up bound and looking into the eyes of his longtime nemesis. The drugs that Nick has been using for weeks led him to take a needless and reckless risk that created this dire outcome.

Spider Thought He Had Every Angle Covered

Nick pleaded with Adam not to go meet Matt. Grossman’s character agreed, bowing to his older brother against his better instincts.

Adam was hoping that Nick having his phone on and being in the proximity of the meeting location would provide a precaution. Instead, Matt completed the trap he’s been laying since fleeing Genoa City, California, as a free man.

Riza pitched Spider to Matt as the best card shark she’s ever known. But Matt’s conniving mind caused him to hold his hand. He was right, of course.

Meanwhile, Matt wouldn’t have allowed Nick to walk into a setup, but he did because of hubris. That’s a carryover from his years as Spider, where the dark shadow of Howarth’s character never appeared.

Riza Thompson Has A Heart

Riza knows about Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). But that didn’t stop her from making a play for Adam, who didn’t go too deeply into the details of the personal life that flourished in the years that followed his leaving Vegas and returning to GC and reclaiming his true identity.

Adam needs Riza to help him complete the objective he and Nick had when they flew to Sin City. Their goal was to confront Matt, overpower him, and inflict some form of final justice that Nick would dictate.

Spider’s former handler is likely not going to allow anyone whom Adam cares for, most specifically Nick in this instance, to be harmed. She won’t do that because, despite the origin of their transactional connection, Riza cares about Adam.

A Classic Cliffhanger In Las Vegas?

This section’s headline would be digestible if Matt’s name were in it. But having Morrow’s character perish in Las Vegas seems to be an unwise bet.

It feels as though a daytime heavyweight like Howarth was hired to be part of this show for a reason. This great actor, who clearly could contend for a Daytime Emmy award if he wants to submit his name for nomination for his work on Y&R, appears to be part of the final problem.

The above reference is to the endgame legendary author, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who created his classic character, Sherlock Holmes, who faced his archenemy, Moriarty.

That serialized storyline led to a most infamous literal cliffhanger where Holmes and Moriarty went over the edge to both of their apparent deaths.

Doyle was under such intense pressure, after killing off his beloved hero, Holmes, that he eventually created a follow-up story, The Return of Sherlock Holmes, which revealed that only Moriarty died.

So, today’s soap opera fans can consider whether Y&R will lead its viewers down a similar path, whether Nick, Matt, or possibly both are believed to perish, with Morrow’s character living because Howarth’s alter ego is the villain.
