Days of Our Lives comings and goings say that a familiar face is back in Salem: Roark Critchlow! The actor is coming back to reprise his role as Dr. Mike Horton. Here’s what you need to know.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Roark Critchlow Is Back In Salem
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, Roark said that he had absolutely no problem stepping back into his character’s shoes once more, as it certainly did feel like old times again. He told the publication in a new interview, “It’s funny, because playing the part is not that tough at all. They wrote stuff that made sense about what Mike would think and feel. My first scene with Susan and Bill and I was nervous. You get back in there and you just feel… it’s not like a heavy weight, but it’s a heritage. To be able to work with people who have been at it as well and as long as they have? We actually had a couple of lovely scenes.”
That said, Roark added that the offer to come back to Days of Our Lives came out of the blue. He didn’t expect to come back to daytime television so soon. It wasn’t until the producers of the show contacted his agent that he considered it.
Days of Our Lives Spoilers: What’s Next For Roark?
Roark added that even though he’s currently living in Canada, that hasn’t put a hamper on his career at all. He said, “There’s so much work everywhere now. I came back to a land of 10,000 people in the mountains of British Columbia. It’s called Summerland, BC. It’s where my folks like and where I went to high school. I’ve worked for 30 years. It’s been a good career, but it’s been a bit of a journeyman career. Lots of highs. Right now, you can shoot in Toronto. You can shoot in Vancouver. You can shoot in Georgia. There’s work springing up all over because of the Internet and technology. They can shoot almost everywhere.”
