Jimmy Kimmel Under Fire Again - White House Tensions Reignite

Jimmy Kimmel and the current occupants of the White House can’t seem to mix well.

This time last week, Kimmel decided to call Melania Trump an “expectant widow,” and after the the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Melania is obviously no longer finding it funny.

In case you’re not aware, this isn’t the first time that one of Kimmel’s so-called jokes have gotten him in a direct firing line with the First Family. Though this time, it’s not even Donald Trump that’s outraged.

Melania Trump Calls For Jimmy Kimmel To Be Permanently Taken Off Air Following “Widow” Joke

Melania Trump recently took to X to savagely address a joke Kimmel made ahead of Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Kimmel parodied the dinner on his show, roasting Melania for having a “glow like an expectant widow.”

Unfortunately for Kimmel, a gunman would go on to get past security in an attempt to assassinate the president, and the joke would suddenly land different.

“Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country,” the first lady, 56, wrote in her post on X. “His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens [sic] the political sickness within America.”

“People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate,” she continued. “A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand.

How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.”

Kimmel, still reeling from the beat down, rushed to defend himself, saying that his remark was obviously “a joke about their age difference.”

“It was a very light roast joke about the fact that he’s almost 80 and she’s younger than I am,” Kimmel continued. “It was not by any stretch of the definition a call to assassination, and they know that I’ve been very vocal for many years speaking out against gun violence in particular.”

Kimmel first got in trouble with the White House late last year after he questioned the political leanings of far-right influencer Charlie Kirk’s killer.

At the time, Kimmel insisted that the killer was a MAGA, leading to his show being temporarily taken off-air. Before ABC could engineer his comeback, he was forced to deliver a public apology, where he went on to affirm that the person who shot Kirk does not represent anyone.
