General Hospital’s Kate Mansi Directs Episode For ABC Soap – Airs This Week

General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that fans are very familiar with Kate Mansi’s acting work as Kristina Corinthos-Davis on the hit ABC soap, as well as playing Abigail Deveraux DiMera on Days of Our Lives (DOOL); however, she recently directed an episode of GH, too. Mansi hoped on social media to tell her fans about her directorial work on the ABC soap. She uploaded a video reel to her Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, sharing this major news, as she walked outside and inside the Directors Guild of America.

The post’s caption stated, “The high of doing something you’d always dreamed of doing. My episode airs this Tuesday, 18th!”

Still, this isn’t the first time Mansi stepped from in front of the camera to behind it, as she recently starred in, produced, and co-wrote “Oh Sh!t”, and directed an episode of DOOL, years ago, while playing Abigail for the Peacock soap.

Mansi had shared a photo with Sonia Blangiardo-Goins, DOOL director, at that time, with a caption that read, “This picture is special. Here’s why: I took it right before I dove into my very first day ever directing.”

GH & Soap Colleagues Support

The social media post about her GH-directed episode garnered a ton of support from her Port Charles colleagues and other soap actors.

Rick Hearst, who plays Ric Lansing on GH, commented with, “Can’t wait to see ♥️ Of course you got my best side, right? 🤩”, while Rory Gibson (Michael Corinthos) added some heart and “rock on” emojis in the comment section. In addition, Kelly Thiebaud (Britt Westbourne) and Asher Antonyzyn (Danny Morgan) placed handclap emojis in the comment section, as The Young and the Restless’s (Y&R) Michelle Stafford, who plays Phyllis Summers on the CBS daytime drama, added a heart emoji, to which Mansi replied with “xo”.

Mansi isn’t the only daytime drama star who’s evolved from acting to directing. Days Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) has done so, along with The Bold and the Beautiful’s (B&B) Heather Tom, who has acted, directed, and written episodes for the CBS soap. The Y&R’s Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Fisher) also recently hung up her acting shoes to become a director on the show.
