General Hospital Spoilers: Kai’s Apology to Curtis, About To Reveal Truth About Drew’s Shooting

General Hospital spoilers gossip Kai Taylor’s (Jens Austin Astrup) apology took Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) by surprise this week as the PCU football phenom came clean about the reality check he experienced with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
Learning what Drew did to set Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) up for investigation was a bridge too far for Kai to stomach, or so he said.
He could hardly tell Curtis the truth, despite how much we could tell he wanted to. Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) seems to be having better luck keeping the truth from her parents than Kai does these days.
Wrestling with the guilt of being at the crime scene during the shooting, Kai is worried about his fingerprints on that bat tracing back to him being there, and moreover, about Trina and her family being wrapped up in this mess with him because of the blackmail evidence they stole from his safe.
While Trina seems to be holding it together, some fans suspect Kai is about to come apart at the seams. Is his hope of rebuilding things with Trina the only thing helping him hold it together?
Trina’s Steady Hand
Throughout this whole ordeal, Kai and Trina have vacillated a bit — bouncing back and forth from telling the truth to keeping their lips zipped.
They never could have known when they broke into Drew’s house to snatch the dirt Drew had on Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) that they would be there when something criminal went down.
Well, something else criminal, that is. The truth is, they’re both on the hook for breaking and entering, among other crimes, and it was Kai who encouraged Trina to skip on out of that house before anyone found them there — even if it meant leaving Drew to bleed out on his living room floor.
Every time Kai starts to sweat it, she brings him back down to reality, but her luck on that may be running out.
GH Spoilers Gush Kai Can’t Keep a Secret
Rumor has it Kai isn’t handling his guilty conscience all that well. Who can blame him? Even though he’s seen another side of Drew now and knows everyone was telling the truth when they warned him about the sketchy Congressman, that still doesn’t mean he would’ve wanted the guy to die — or that he feels particularly good about having any knowledge of what happened that night.
When Trina and Kai replayed the events of that evening, they agreed they didn’t know enough to be helpful to the authorities, and they let themselves off the hook of even entertaining it.
But something tells us new information might arise that becomes relevant to the case — and they could be the only two who might be able to shed any light on it. Will Kai betray Trina and tell the truth to set himself free?
This Would Be the Last Straw
Kai and Trina have been down this road before. Alright, maybe they weren’t keeping a secret about their participation at a crime scene before, but their divergence over Drew has been a point of contention in the past.
Trina wanted Kai to be her ride or die, and his loyalty to Drew over her family felt like a knife in her back.
Now, Kai says he has seen the light, but if more shady facets of Curtis and Portia’s lives surface, it could have him waffling over whether to come clean — a decision Trina definitely doesn’t want him to make.
Will he keep it all under wraps just to please her, or will he go his own way again even if it costs him his second chance with the woman he loves? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
