Say it isn’t so! General Hospital comings and goings say that actress Kirsten Storms, who is best known for her role as Maxie Jones on the hit ABC soap, is leaving the series. But don’t worry, she’s not leaving for too long. She is just being temporarily replaced by incoming actress Nicole Paggi. Here’s what you need to know.
General Hospital Breaking News: Kirsten Storms Is Out!
If Maxie looked a little different during the Thursday, December 27th show, that’s because it was the first episode that Nicole had made her debut. Kirsten has not said why she is leaving the show, but this isn’t the first time she’s stepped away from the camera. Even though she’s played Maxie since 2005, she was temporarily recast by Jen Lilley back in 2011 and Molly Burnett in 2016 and 2018.
While Kirsten has been rather quiet on social media, fans have noticed that she’s looked a little different on the canvas. Some have even pointed out that it’s time for Kirsten to have a major wardrobe overhaul on the show. There’s only so many lumberjack vests that Maxie can wear in one week, right? Well, some comments included, “Why is GH dressing you in the worst clothes possible? You used to wear such beautiful clothes on the show and now they have you in oversized shirts and sweaters.”

Another person wrote, “I noticed the same, but, I don’t know if it is GH’s doing. Sometimes actors wear their own clothes. — Though, maybe that’s just for extras. I was told what to wear/bring as an extra on a show. (I didn’t do it as there was a scheduling conflict.) At any rate, she’s gorgeous and I wondered why the less attractive wardrobe when, as you stated, she used to wear such beautiful clothes.”
Needless to say, soap opera fans will just have to tune in to find out what will happen next. General Hospital airs weekdays on the ABC network. Check your local listings for times.

Agree totally. I made a comment about her being unhappy and Brandon Barash commented back that he agreed. The sad fact is, weight management is hard…been there…Emotional eating is hard to leave behind, but for health reasons, fat is unhealthy and can lead to diabetes, heart disease, and even uterine cancer.

Did any of you’ll for a minute think that just maybe she has a medical problem that is causing her to gain weight and it’s not from over eating. Hope whatever is taking her off the show for a while she deals with and hurry back. Like what was said there is only one Maxie
Glad you the posted regarding a medical problem that is causing KS weight gain. Medical weight gain is even harder to approach than over eating, which I don’t believe she is necessarily doing. KS has had many medical issues in the recent years but has not discussed them which she is not mandated to do as it is her private not reel life. People are so unkind when normally weight controlled people begin to gain weight. Sure she has gain weight, but she is the same Maxie and KS all have loved for so many years. People need to lighten up and keep the comments to themselves and not post such on spoiler boards in my opinion. Hope KS will return when all is well with whatever is keeping her from appearing on canvas for while. Personally I don’t have a need to know the reason for her absence from canvas, just that she is okay mentally and physically.
I just said the same thing to my daughter that she has had some medical issues in the past so maybe that’s why now! Hopefully she’s ok and gets well soon so she can come back as Maxi!
I know as we all have Kirsten has gained weight over the years as she has aged and matured, but she is the Maximista they should dress her that way. She does work for a magazine that covers style, there are many nice styles for everyone of all ages and sizes. General Hospital is missing the boat as they could do such a nice storyline with an actress and character that we all love.
She has been suffering from the same disease as Maurice Benard and has some other disease that caused her to gain a lot of weight so I think she is taking time away from the show to get help. I did notice the actress that took her place looks a lot like her. It will be interesting to see how the new actress will be with Spinelli to see if they have any chemistry together.
No matter how much she weighs, she could be dressed in pretty clothes. The hairstyles (and color) and makeup have been horrid also. She is a pretty young woman and deserves better from those in makeup and wardrobe. She isn’t the only one who suffers from that team.
