When it comes to the amount of media attention and deals they closed back when they arrived in the US in 2020 and now, the difference is quite clear.
Their star power is not what it used to be, and in the span of six years, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have gone from Hollywood’s newest shiny power couple to becoming one of its many background characters.
Do they have a secret weapon to turn it around in 2026?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Don’t Have the Same Amount of Star Attraction They Once Enjoyed
The Oprah tell-all, bestselling memoir ‘Spare’ and popular Netflix docuseries ‘Harry and Meghan’ – oh those were the days.
These days, however, the couple lack the ability to provoke even a quarter of that same level of fan reaction they did once-upon-a-time when they arrived in the US. In fact, with their own team falling apart at the seams, many royal fans are beginning to seriously wonder if the couple are not going broke.
But if things are becoming this clear to the public, how very much clear would it be to the couple living it? Kinsey Schofield believes the reality that “their star power is fading” is going to be a constant source of frustration for the couple.
“That will frustrate them because they’ve experienced the dopamine hit of adoration. Their confidence in leaving the royal family was rooted in their perceived popularity,” the podcast host goes on to explain for Fox News, adding, “They’ll keep putting themselves out there because they need to make money, but Meghan’s commercial ambitions conflict with Harry’s desire to rebuild royal bridges.”
“As long as she uses her title for business, the royal family will keep their distance,” Schofield noted. “And as long as the family keeps that distance, Harry’s popularity will continue to suffer.”
When it comes to the topic of incorporating the titles into their branding, isn’t it already late for them to turn around and just change tack? I mean, Meghan Markle’s Duchess of Sussex initials have even gone as far as to be engraved on her travel tote. And didn’t she get announced with the title in a room with only two other people, including the announcer?
Anyway, 2026 is still so early. We might still be in for another one of the Sussexes’ rebranding. It wouldn’t be the first, now would it?
