It looks like General Hospital fans have a reason to be worried. That’s because there are so many critics that think the hit ABC soap might soon be on life support. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Is General Hospital On Life Support?
There’s heavy speculation suggesting that General Hospial viewers might switch over to watch the new CBS soap called Beyond the Gates which will be premiering on Monday, February 24th. But get this: it will air during the 2pm timeslot, which is the same timeslot that ABC airs General Hospital.
With that said, there’s a possiblity that General Hospital fans will change the channel and peak over to Beyond The Gates to see what the new soap is all about. That, or they might stay loyal to Port Charles and tune in for the drama each and every day, regardless of what’s going on at the new soap.
Of course, it didn’t take very long for many soap fans to discuss the matter on social media.
Some even commented with, “Wow. I hope @valentinifrank understands that #GH is already on life support and #beyondthegates is going to pull the plug for them in 8 days.”
“Tamara Tuni, Cady McLain, Jon Lindstrom, Daphnee Duplaix, Karla Mosley, the list keeps going on!”
Another critic wrote, “Whenever Jon Lindstrom went to another soap… that man shined bright like a diamond. Can’t wait to watch him and Cady on Beyond The Gates… I can see Jon and Clifton in scenes right now… as friends… but I’d rather adversaries… let’s get it poppin.”

I’m concerned about the future of GH. It’s been declining for several years. I will not be watching the new soap but I am glad Lindstrom has left GH. Never have been a fan.
Valentine and writers need to step up and pay attention to the fans comments concerning the complaints about the show.
Character personalities being changed, bringing in new characters who have no connection to the show, the lengthy storylines, the constant bringing people back from the dead in a regular basis to not listening to the fans for some characters be brought back with the exception of Sam and Dex.
Fans were very disappointed with the removal of Gregory and Finn but TPTB have cared less about us the fans.
I cannot watch the Cyrus debacle. Jason and Dante should have been avenging Dex and Sam’s death and clearing Elizabeth’s name. Lucky 8s as inept a detective as ever. Jason always is there to protect Joss and Elizabeth and Sam is Danny’s mother. Dante was Sam’s fiance. Writers are clueless and out of touch. Maybe watch the show and pay attention. Can’t erase from the fan’s minds what happened in the past. Lucky and Elizabeth were cute late 90s but turned toxic he cheated lied drugs jealousy possessive abusive. Elizabeth fell in love with Jason. Go back watch YouTube episodes from 1999-2009. Lucky needs someone new. They are NOT Luke and Laura. Sasha needs to be on her own. Jason should NOT be everybody’s baby daddy and savior. He deserves a life with his 2 sons Danny and Jake. Drew/Willow is creepy. Ratings are abysmal and will get worse once BTG starts 2/24. Save the show do the right thing. February Sweeps suck!
General Hospital is on at 3PM where I live in New Jersey. General Hospital has been my favorite soap opera since I was a young boy. That will NEVER change regardless of ANY new soap that is soon premiering or will premiere down the road. My girlfriend and I are General Hospital super fans forever!!

Jon Lindstrom hasn’t had a good storyline since Ryan was killed. They have under used him. Jon is a great actor and deserves better. It doesn’t surprise me he went to another soap. GH keeps getting new actors but don’t utilize the current actors. I am an avid GH fan and hope GH stays on
You should not have killed off so many of the characters we all loved so much. Sam Spencer, wheres Valentine and now Kevin. No one wants to see Sonny having heart problems He has always been the strongest character on the show. Get this story line with Cyrus over with, Why did the guy playing Jack Brenner leaver he and Carly had perfect chemistry. Get some new writers.
