What Happened To Kate Middleton’s Hair During Her Chemotherapy?

What happened to Kate Middleton’s hair during her chemotherapy? That’s what a lot of fans and critics on both sides of the pond can’t help but wonder and especially since there are reports now suggesting that the Princess of Wales might have just had pre-cancerous cells. Keep  reading below for everything you need to know.

Royal Family News: What Happened To Kate Middleton’s Hair During Her Chemotherapy?

Did the future queen of England lose her hair during her chemotherapy treatments? While the palace has not commented on the matter, a lot of people have heavily suggested that not to be the case at all.

But at the same time, the palace has also refused to detail anything about Kate’s cancer, let alone specify which one she has had. This has prompted a lot of people to question even more details surrounding her health crisis.

Not only that, but Kate’s appearance also has not changed much in the last several months, either. Sure, a lot of people have noticed a bit of weight loss but no one knows if that is due to her cancer or just overall stress.

It’s been noted that about 65 percent of individuals undergoing chemotherapy will experience chemotherapy-induced hair loss, which is usually temporary and completely reversible when therapy ends.

Royal Family News: What’s Next For The Princess Of Wales?

Head hair usually goes first after the first three weeks of chemotherapy, followed by hair from other areas of the body. But again, everyone responds differently, so it could be sooner or later, depending on the individual.

What’s more, it’s also been said that some chemotherapy drugs cause hair loss, while others rarely do. The type and dose of the drug, as well as whether it’s taken as a tablet or infusion, can all affect hair loss. But of course, this all depends on the type of cancer you have along with the treatment that is given to you by your doctors.

Some patients even wear cold caps, which reduces blood flow to the scalp.

So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said at all.

You do not always lose your hair. It depends on what chemo treatment is used. I have stage4 lung, liver and skeletal cancer. I never lost my hair. A couple of minor loss but because I have thin hair it showed a little. Princess Kate has very thick hair and it probably never shows. Chemo determines the side affects. I had/have many but hair loss was not one of them.
