Both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were on hand for the premiere of a new Bob Marley movie in Kingston, Jamaica. And while many celebrities of their caliber certainly do attend such red carpet events, a lot of people are scratching their heads over the fact that Meghan wore a black floor-length ball gown to the premiere when everyone else around her were certainly dressed more casually.
Of course, royal fans and critics alike sure did have a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some even commented with, “Seriously confused why they are there. Does she identify as Jamaican? Walking in dirt wearing a fancy gown. Sweet irony,” along with, “She never dresses appropriately for the occasion. Everyone comes out in summer attire, she’s dressed in a horse blanket. At a movie premiere in laidback Jamaica? She’s wearing her senior prom ball gown.”

Another critic wrote, “Honestly, does it matter? They are so past prime and unable to make money on their profile. Look how over dressed she is- that’s what a 20 something does when they never get invited anywhere.”
And then there was this comment as well: “Yes, she does look good in my honest opinion… But she doesn’t look appropriate for the occasion. I do love her hair and I love the earrings, I like the dress on her… If it’s a state dinner, but everyone else is clearly casual and she shows up looking like she’s at Buckingham.”
