General Hospital star John J. York has given fans a little update on his health condition. John was diagnosed just last year with two blood and bone marrow cancers, myelodysplastic syndrome and multiple smoldering myeloma. Here’s what he’s got to say.

John took to his X account to offer an update for his fans. He started off his video message by saying, “You’re thinking, ‘Why did Mac shave his beard?’ I didn’t shave my beard. I actually shaved the little bits of hair that were still left there.”

The actor then added that everything is progressing smoothly and that he might actually be returning to General Hospital sooner than anticipated. That’s always good news, right? He continued, “I wanted to give you a little update as to how things are going along. They’re actually going along very well. I’m still in the middle stages of everything. I have a long road ahead. But the test results are looking good. I’m feeling really good. Hopefully, things go the way they are, maybe be back on the show late spring, early summer.”

John then went on to thank all of his fans for their support throughout this entire process of his. He said, “And I just wanted to thank you all so very much for all your notes and messages of support, encouragement, all the love you’ve been sending my way. I feel your hugs every day and I thank you very much for that. In the meantime, I want you all to have a very, very Merry Christmas with your family and friends and loved ones. I wish you all a very healthy happy and prosperous New Year.”
