General Hospital spoilers say that a lot of fans can’t help but wonder why Genie Francis, who is best known for her role as Laura Spencer on the hit ABC soap, isn’t front and center in the show’s new promo for their 60th anniversary celebrations. Here’s what you need to know.
General Hospital News: Has Genie Francis Been Snubbed?
A lot of fans believe that Genie should be getting more love than what she’s apparently been getting on the show. Of course, everyone has their own opinions on the matter but some believe that as one of the originals, Genie should be getting more respect, especially in the show’s promos. Well, Genie and the other ‘originals’ from the soap.
Of course, there sure are a lot of daytime television fans that certainly have a lot to say about this milestone! Some comments on social media have included, “Is there a reason that Genie is not on the bottom front and center, considering she started in 76/77? I’m perplexed? No Kin Shriner or Jackie Zeman?” along with, “Jaclyn Zeman was not part of the September 2021 or May 2022 publicity shoots, so therefore, she was not included. Kin Shiner was part of the September 2021 shoot, however, I doubt he’s enough pull to put in the publicity press kits. They used all regularly-appearing actors, and Shriner is recurring. And Genie Francis is not front and center because we all know Maurice Benard would’ve thrown a Diva fit!”
Another fan wrote, “Forget about the photo placement, Genie should be front and center in STORY. She should be the main leading lady, not a glorified extra.”
General Hospital News: What’s Next For Genie?
And then there was this comment, “But part of this is her own doing. Genie decided a while ago that she wants to take the summers off. So, we end up with these long stretches of Laura’s absence from the screen. Which defines why they produce these convoluted reasons for her exits. Plus, it seems that Genie is favoring her health over getting a lot of airtime (these days) since the pandemic.”
