General Hospital Star Maurice Benard Celebrates His Wedding Anniversary With Wife Paula Benard

Sharing a throwback photo from their earlier years together, Maurice wrote, “There are no words to describe my relationship with Paula except to say!!! I always tell Paula when the day comes I wanna pass away first cause I never wanna live without her.”

Of course, it didn’t take long at all for both Maurice’s fans and his followers to comment on his photo. Many of them said, “Happy wedding anniversary to you two. Cailey, Heather, Cassidy, and Joshua all beautiful children because of u guys,” along with, “Such a beautiful couple both inside and out. You two were meant to be together and to take care of one another always and forever.”

Another fan wrote, “Beautiful couple. My husband and I have been married since I was 18 and he was almost 21 so we’ve been married 33 years and I always say that I have to pass away first because I cannot live without him and then he says well what about me and I say well you’re done your daughters meeting our daughters will help take care of you but I simply cannot live without you so I understand how you feel with Paula.”

General Hospital Star Maurice’s Wife Paula Details Their Struggles

Back in 2020, Paula opened up about being married to Maurice and the challenges they faced with his bipolar disorder for his mental health series, State of Mind. “Yeah, I didn’t sign up for it,” she cracked. “Maybe now’s the time to tell you.”

She also said, “It’s no different than living with anyone with any other problem… I mean, yes, it’s difficult, but you know… I don’t know. I don’t think twice about it. I just do whatever we have to do to manage it. When times are hard, then we dig deeper and figure out what we need to do. But to me, it’s almost a question that shouldn’t even be asked.”

Paula also added that there’s hope for other couples who are dealing with similar issues.  “It may take a while, but eventually, if you do the right things, you get through it,” she said. “You’ll see that light at the end of the tunnel.”
