General Hospital Preparing For Sonny’s Final Exit

General Hospital Spoilers: Carly's Future with Jack Will Go Up in Smoke, But Not Before He Burns Her Family to the Ground

General Hospital spoilers have everyone asking the same question: has there been a change in focus on the show that might be leading to Sonny’s exit? Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

General Hospital Preparing For Sonny’s Final Exit

Many eagle-eyed fans have noticed that General Hospital seems to be morphing from a mob show to a spy show.

As Sonny is nearing his retirement after having ruled the streets of Port Charles for the last four decades, there has been a massive change. It seems like the legacy families are being given less screen time while the new spy networks, which also include a newly recruited Josslyn, is peaking up steam.

Some people think this might also lead to the demise of the Drew and Willow story. Not only that, but it seems like the writers have decided not to pair Anna and Jason, which has also led to interesting developments.

Of course, the internet has had a lot to say about the matter. Some have even commented with, “I wouldn’t count my chickens before they’ve hatched. I think they’re still heading in the direction of Jason and Anna.”

“And the spy stuff now (unlike the 80s) is just too hokey and not done well at all. I wish they’d veer away from the spy AND mob stuff both and tell other stories. It doesn’t work now. Especially when the show is on a shoe string budget as it is.”

Another fan wrote, “Yes and I’m here for it. Reminds me of the 80s and early 90s. There was a little mob ish activity with Frank Smith (before Sonny’s time) but it was centralized on the Cassadines and the WSB. The show was so much better back then.”

And then there was this comment as well: “I think part of the change is that IMO Benard just isn’t that good anymore. I loved Sonny when he first came on the show and he and Brenda should be end game but frankly the Sonny character has outlived its usefulness.”

“Some fans I think are tired of how he never faces any consequences for his actions. He murdered a FBI agent and we fans are supposed to forget it even happened.”

Of course, General Hospital fans will have to tune in each and every day to find out what will happen next.
