Young And The Restless Spoilers: Phyllis Becomes The New Aristotle Dumas – Cane Rejects Dangerous Alliance?

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) created a false persona who he called Aristotle Dumas.

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) injected herself into that storyline and became part of Cane’s dysfunctional staff that included Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Now, she wants to become Aristotle.

It seems like a long time ago but was only slightly over a year ago when his ill-fated ruse failed so badly that three people died.

Viewers likely thought the numerous characters that were trapped in Cane’s chateau in the south of France might never escape that long, hot summer.

Cane built Arabesque because his late father, Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers), wanted him to restore his family with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).

Well, that goal was realized but the company was taken by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and eventually the Moustache gave its remnants to Phyllis.

Saving Nick Newman’s Life Yields A Half-Hearted Reward

Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) recognized that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) overdosed because he headed an illicit business that dealt in wrongful substances. He sprang into action and performed life-saving measures that saved Nick’s life.

As devoted fans recall, Phyllis was present in that hotel suite when Nick fell unconscious. She followed Matt’s lead and assisted with Nick’s rescue.

Victor was profoundly affected by that series of events and allowed Matt slack thereafter. He was also grateful to Phyllis and forgave her recent transgressions and presented her with a gift, Arabesque.

Arabesque Is Hardly Newman Enterprises

Victor was appreciative that Phyllis helped to save Nick but he’s still the Moustache. So, the company he gave Phyllis wasn’t exactly the thriving enterprise Cane built during the six years he was away from Genoa City, Wisconsin.

Phyllis knew that Victor’s gesture was sincere and meant as a device she could use to create something for herself. But she’s had time to think since becoming the current head of this shelled company.

Her pitch to Cane is genuine. She would like to revive his plans to use Arabesque to go after the other companies in GC. In this soap world that means Newman Enterprises and Jabot.

Cane Ashby Doesn’t Need Renewed Drama

Cane worked hard to reestablish trust with Lily. She’s fallen back in love with him, and their twins have forgiven their dad.

Lily picked Cane to head Chancellor, which Billy believes is rightfully Abbott family property. But Thompson’s character claimed to turn away from that pursuit because of Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) pregnancy.

Viewers know and Lily and Cane suspect that Billy will return to the fight after the baby is born. In the meantime, Cane wants to enjoy steady sailing this fall and head toward winter with hopes of deepening his renewed relationship with Lily.

Cane doesn’t need Phyllis’ games to upset all the progress he’s made and needs to avoid attachment to her version of Aristotle.
