That’s because it doesn’t seem like Jill treats Billy like the son that she is to him. You would think that Jill would spend more time dotting on Billy just because he is her only son with John Abbott, but that hasn’t been the case at all.
It seems as though Jill kind of ignores Billy whenever he’s in crisis mode or just expects him to figure things out for himself.
Some fans even think it’s a shame that there aren’t any storylines that have Jill and Billy working together against people like Victor. It just hasn’t happened and at this point, it’s probably not going to ever happen, either.
Now, that’s not to say that Jill doesn’t love him. Instead, she’s not protecting him like she protects others.
It goes without saying that many Y&R fans had a lot to say about where this storyline is headed on social media.
What’s Next For Jill And Billy?
Some even commented with, “I don’t think this antagonistic approach is right for these characters. And why would she favor Cane so much over her own child?!?! This has been poor writing for years and I blame JG for getting us to this place.”
Another critic wrote, “Cane is basically the son that she never had and they always been close. She acts like a mother figure to Cane and Cane is the total opposite of Billy. He barely messes up and he is successful.”
And then there was this comment as well: “Jill is a horrible mother to Billy and she’s a gaslighter! What she did with selling Chancellor to Victor was 100% messed up and on purpose to hurt Billy. He has issues cuz she’s a POS!”
