General Hospital Spoilers: Justine’s Words Ring in Dante’s Ears as Chase’s Mistake Could Cost the PCPD Bigtime
General Hospital spoilers claim District Attorney Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) didn’t mince words when she told Acting Police Commissioner Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) that the case of Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) needed to be assigned to someone else because it would be career suicide for her to get anywhere near that case.
She was also abundantly clear that he should take similar steps to recuse himself if possible.
Those words have to be ringing in Dante’s ears right now after hearing Ric Lansing’s (Rick Hearst) prompt defense of Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) on Thursday.
Learning that an eye witness has come forward vouching for Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) having had recent possession of Michael’s keychain — which were found to have a key to Drew’s place on it — came as a confusing punch to the gut.
What will Dante do about his former partner this time?
Chase Doesn’t Quit When He’s Ahead
Chase really packs a punch when he’s fired up and impassioned about something. We saw that first hand during Willow Tait Cain’s (Katelyn MacMullen) trial.
He just couldn’t stand to be in the same room with anyone who dared to question Willow’s innocence or suggested that Michael has nothing to do with any of it.
From the start, he’s been bent on being right about Michael framing Willow — and now he’s got himself in a situation where it looks like he’s the one trying to frame Michael! He really should have kept his word to Dante and stayed far away from this case.
Career Suicide Inches Closer
At the same time, Dante wasn’t going to dig deeper into this case, but new evidence being brought to light makes that hard when Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is nowhere near ready to come back to work and Mac Scorpio (John J. York) has just turned down the position Dante is sitting squarely in.
Is this the career suicide that Justine was speaking of? Could it be that Chase is going to come out, fists swinging, ready to take Dante down if he dares to lay down the law with Chase again? Chase has been struggling to accept that his old peer and partner is now his boss, and it’s not likely to stop here.
Everyone Loses
Michael looks like he’s about to be closer to being in the clear than ever. The PCPD already lost that video footage during the trial against Willow.
If they botch this leg of the investigation too — over a cop gone rogue who can’t help himself from playing hero to his ex-wife — it won’t be a good look for how the department is running on Dante’s watch.
Will Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) be forced to put someone else in the role if Chase demands it, or will they all see him as a disgruntled employee — and perhaps a former one after this comes to light? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead to see how this plays out.
