General Hospital Spoilers: Maxie Regains Consciousness – Is Nathan Hiding A Dark Secret, An Imposter In Disguise?

General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) has returned to the set of the ABC soap, with her first airdate revealed to be February 12.
And this means that Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) could be exposed as not Nathan West, either a clone or a faker in a rubber mask with some memories transferred!
Kirsten Announced She’s Back At Work
Recently, Kirsten Storms announced on her Instagram that she is back at work in the General Hospital studio. She posted a photo of her dressing room, indicating her return after a long leave of absence from the soap.
During this time, she and her daughter Harper Barash moved from LA to Tennessee. Maxie’s ex-husband and former GH partner, Johnny Zacchara (Brandon Barash), along with his new wife, also moved to Nashville.
Since Kirsten and Brandon share parenting duties, she relocated there too, bringing her closer to her best friend, Lulu Spencer (previously played by Emme Rylan). Now, Maxie is just a few hours’ drive from Emme, who currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri.
Kirsten Also Needed Some Time Off For Medical Concerns
Additionally, Kirsten required some time away from work due to ongoing medical concerns. You might recall that a few years back, she underwent surgery to remove a growth from her brain.
More recently, doctors discovered an aneurysm, but thankfully, Maxie appears to be improving. Fortunately, she did not require any surgical intervention or procedure for the aneurysm; the medical team is simply monitoring it.
She was given a choice whether to remove the aneurysm or not, and got a second opinion, of course. As a result, she has been cleared and has returned to her job.
Maxie Hasn’t Been On Screen Since Last August
As it is now, we haven’t seen Maxie Jones on screen since August 2025 when she fell into a coma thanks to mega villain Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) who spiked a face cream.
Since then, Maxie has been in a long-term care facility in Boston, and Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) has visited, taking their daughter Georgie Spinelli (Lily Fisher).
Her family visits her often, including Mac Scorpio (John J. York) and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) and Maxie’s younger kids also go to see her.
However, there is someone who hasn’t visited her yet. Soon, we will see her wake up from that annoying coma because Maxie’s first air date is Thursday, February 12th. That’s only three weeks away and right in the middle of February sweeps.
Fans Are Anxious For Maxie’s Return, And Her And Nathan’s First Encounter
GH fans are eagerly anticipating Maxie’s return because while she was asleep, her late husband Nathan West came back to life; or at least he SEEMS to be Nathan! Many are excited about the chance for Maxie and Nathan to reunite, but we will have to wait to see if they are meant to be together.
When she fell into that coma, Maxie was in a relationship with Spinelli and was in love, building a life with him. Therefore, Maxie will have a lot to adjust to when she wakes up.
We can be sure that Mac, Felicia, and Spinelli, along with probably the doctors, will want to help her gently adapt to everything that has changed while she was in that coma.
Maxie’s Family Has Been Very Worried
Maxie’s family, along with Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening), Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), and others, have been very worried and are hoping she wakes up soon.
But we have to wonder, when Maxie does wake up, will Nathan rush to Boston to see her? So far, there hasn’t been any mention on General Hospital about Nathan visiting Maxie in Boston, which is odd—he is her soulmate, right-so why hasn’t he gone to see her?
There was a talk with James West (Gary James Fuller) about taking him to see his mom, but then the PCPD got busy and Nathan was reinstated. This still raises a red flag that this might not really be Nathan-it’s his body, or a clone, but he may not be the one in control of his mind.
Mac And Felicia May Advise Nathan Not To Visit Maxie
Mac and Felicia may advise Nathan not to visit, even if he wants to see Maxie when she wakes up: seeing her supposedly dead husband, Nathan, would be a huge shock to Maxie.
Felicia wants to avoid stressing her daughter out-Maxie will be medically fragile after coming out of that coma, so a big shock is a bad idea.
Not only is Nathan alive after Maxie thought he was dead for seven years, but his sister Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) is also back from the dead-and she was anxious about seeing him with James-that has to mean something.
Between now and then, we will see something teased in the General Hospital Winter spoilers.
We will see Lulu and Nathan together, stressed out, as they chase after Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) because she has left her PCPD detail; Lulu and Nathan will team up to look for her.
Lulu And Nathan Have Already Bonded
Lulu and Nathan have become much closer; they share a bond from the coma and the lost years of their lives.
Dante is not with Lulu, and there are definitely sparks between them that will grow stronger until Maxie wakes up and comes back to Port Charles. Since we know when Maxie is returning, the Lulu and Nathan relationship should develop soon.
This will also be part of the February sweeps, which lasts from this Thursday, January 29th, to February 25th.
Additionally, Nathan’s growing connection with Lulu raises a red flag for many, suggesting that someone has taken over Nathan’s mind.
Nathan Was Running From Someone And Crashed A Stolen Truck
When Nathan West returned, he literally crashed into Port Charles in a stolen truck-he was taken to General Hospital and admitted as a John Doe.
Many people recognized him and were shocked, saying, “No way, he’s dead;” it seemed impossible for Nathan to be back, but they checked DNA and he matched the presumed dead Nathan West.
However, beyond the DNA, there are many red flags indicating he might not be in control of his mind and body.
First, Nathan says he has no memory of the last seven years, which is very suspicious. We also know he was fleeing from someone in the stolen vehicle that Lulu found him in after the crash-that’s also quite suspicious.
Britt’s Reaction Was The Biggest Red Flag
The most concerning sign was Britt’s reaction upon seeing her brother Nathan alive at General Hospital.
Unlike her mother Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), who was filled with joy, or Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), who views Nathan as her brother due to their upbringing, Britt appeared quite unsettled. She seemed disturbed by his presence and was not surprised to find him alive.
Initially, we thought that Nathan’s brain might have been altered. It raises the question of whether this is truly Maxie’s husband we are witnessing.
It Could Be Someone In One Of Those Lifelike Rubber Masks Like Faison And Liesl Wore
It’s possible that this is someone else wearing a Nathan disguise, pretending to be him-one would think that Liesl would have picked up on that right away.
When she first showed up in town she had one to make her look like Anna Devane (Finola Hughes)! His twisted half-brother Peter August (Wes Ramsey) or his deranged father Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) could be contenders-we recently saw Peter in a surprise visit from Wes with Anna.
However, we currently know that Anders Hove is only providing voiceover work from his home for the scenes involving Anna. So, we only hear Faison’s voice since he is in Denmark and not in Los Angeles filming General Hospital.
It Could Definitely Be Someone Obsessed With Lulu
It might be someone who is obsessed with Lulu because of how close this Nathan-like person is getting to her while he ignores his wife Maxie, who is suffering in a coma.
If Nathan doesn’t express his love for Maxie right after they reunite when she wakes up, that’s pretty convincing proof that it’s not really him.
That would be the biggest warning sign that it’s not Nathan or that someone else is in charge-they could find the real Nathan. But with Maxie about to wake up, hopefully, GH will hurry up with this Nathan storyline.
We need to find out where he has been for the last seven years and what happened to him-we’ll see how it unfolds, but fans can’t wait to see Maxie back on screen. We’re really excited to have Maxie Jones return to General Hospital.
