Did Prince Harry Go Too Far With His Donald Trump Joke?

Prince Harry and US President Donald Trump are no friends, that’s for sure. For one thing, Donald Trump has actually spent time disparaging the exiled prince, so it’s only right that the moment Harry gets his chance, he’d take a swing back.

But did he take it too far?

What Did Prince Harry Say of Donald Trump?

Prince Harry’s appearance on the ‘Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ was one of the 41-year-old’s most awkward TV appearances, as he made jokes and laughed freely. Hours after this segment aired however, sad news struck for the Sussexes, as news surfaced that Thomas Markle Sr. was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Anyway, without knowing this, Harry was his jovial self, cracking jokes and trying to get a few laughs from the audience in return.

“I genuinely thought this was the audition for the Gingerbread Prince saves Christmas in Nebraska,” Harry quipped, walking up on stage.

In the same breath, Harry revealed he actively considered going into acting because he knows how Americans are obsessed with Christmas movies and royalty.

After Colbert dismissed the claims, Harry returns with this scripted response, “Really? I heard you elected a king.” At this, the crowd booed him, showing their displeasure at the joke. Of course, Harry was only referencing the King Trump controversy.

“That’s a fair point, no, he’s got a point,” Colbert said, trying to save him from the wrath of the booing audience members.

“And often making such a big deal about my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather George III,” Harry continued, keeping a straight face amid the boos.

Speaking of a great great great grandfather, America will be celebrating their milestone 250th birthday and Trump has seen it fit to invite King Charles to join in the festivities. Whether the British royal plans to honor this invite remains to be seen.

Anyway, since Harry was on a roll, he referenced Trump again – without actually naming him, mind you – when he listed steps to landing a role on Colbert’s fictional Hallmark movie.

“I’ll record a self-tape, I’ll fly myself to an audition, settle a baseless lawsuit with the White House. All the things you people on TV do,” Harry said, referencing CBS’s $16 million settlement with Trump.

“Hey, Harry, I didn’t do any of those things,” Colbert responded.

“Maybe that’s why you’re canceled,” Harry shot back.

Trump had famously accused the broadcasting company and “60 Minutes” of deceptively editing an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election. The then-Republican nominee then went on to demand the release of the unedited tapes.

If it’s tit for tat, Harry’s shots kinda fall flat, especially since the US President called his wife Meghan Markle “terrible” on The Post for the whole world to hear.
