General Hospital Spoilers: Were Joss and Dex Ever Truly in Love – Or Doomed From the Start?
General Hospital spoilers say that she’s fun, smart, and beautiful but unfortunately, she hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to love.
Did Joss And Joss Have A Good Relationship?
Clearly, we are talking about Jossly Jacks (Eden McCoy). She was in a relationship with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) before he was killed off back in December 2024.
As many GH fans can recall, Dex Heller was a discharged army veteran who became involved in Sonny Corinthos’s organization and later joined the Port Charles police department.
But, did he and Joss have the kind of relationship that she deserved? Needless to say, General Hospital fans certainly did have a lot to say about the matter on social media.
Some even commented with, “I liked Dex and Joss. I felt like Cam was always whiny about the stupidest things so I was fine when they broke up.”
“I feel like Vaughn is their Dex 2.0. But the WSB storyline with Joss would be so much better with her still with Dex as a cop.”
What Really Happened Between Joss and Dex?
Another critic of the soap wrote, “So sorry to say this but they were so awkward to me.Josslyn was fine but I was never able to accept the actor who played Dex as a tough guy hitman. So then those feelings made me not buy them as a couple either. I think I just wasn’t a fan of his acting style.”
And then there was this comment as well: “I don’t understand what was the purpose of the character Dex. We knew nothing about his family when he was alive and know even less about him when he died a policeman in the line of duty. This is one of those storylines that was a waste of time in my opinion.”
Of course, GH fans will simply have to tune in each and every day to find out what will happen next.

As far as I am concerned regarding the Dex/Joss relationship, I feel the two were in lust, not love which sometimes can be mistaken. I also feel writers did not support the two with a reasonable story line. Dex presented as hit man as Joss does as a WSB agent – very unconvincing. The Joss/Dex story line was presented more around their bedroom attraction that anything else which became very boring in my opinion. The Dex character was never really developed into a character that could give viewers a need to root for him whether good or bad. Just my opinion.
I’m inclined to agree at this point. I also feel that they never really gave Dex a chance to blossom naturally because he was kept on an extremely tight leash. The Joss/Dex love story may have looked authentic compared to that of Joss/Cam. But in all seriousness, it was bad timing. No one accepted him with open arms and he was treated as an outsider.
Nevertheless, I just hope that if they ever consider resurrecting the character of Dex Heller down the road, they need to go back and give the character a complete reset from where he was before his death.
For example, what if they did a storyline to where someone like Kristina finds Dex in a dark place unconscious, naked, and with severe amnesia? I believe that would lead to a stronger storyline where Kristina serves as Dex’s guide to self-discovery.
Besides, if it weren’t for Joss, I believe Dex would have a better chance at love with Kristina by now.
