But Daphne is Steffy Forrester Finnegan’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) plant. These close friends are working a ploy that plays off Carter’s bravado and Hope Logan’s (Annika Noelle) self-appointed victim status.
So far, Steffy’s efforts are succeeding as she had hoped. Carter’s decision to let Steffy become FC’s president is another step toward the Forrester family retaking control. But all can’t flow perfectly in Los Angeles, California, because this is soap.

If Steffy gets what she wants, Carter will give into Daphne. They might not need to realize a relationship or anything close to that.
I think all should go as planned. As long as that development provokes Hope, Carter will be thrown off-course. The distraction of having Daphne tease him, combined with Hope’s anticipated negative reaction, will be enough to create discord in the executive suite.
Speaking of the front office setting, doesn’t Hope have her own office? The same could be asked about Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), Carter’s newly appointed Chief Executive Officer.
Of course, the above is a wink to the fans. They know that B&B has long used two settings for FC’s main office, which includes the design room.

Meanwhile, Brooke still wants to believe that Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) will choose her again. Fans wonder why someone as vivacious as Brooke would allow herself to be ranked second.
With all due respect to the subjective topic of love, Brooke has to acknowledge that getting eight divorces from Ridge is just plain weird. Her talk of destiny translates to repeated dysfunction.
Ridge has decided to reestablish what he had with Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig). But their last marriage was years ago. So, that’s far from certain, and maybe Brooke’s hopes will bear daytime fruit eventually, but not right now.

Carter won when he convinced the Forresters to accept a revived jewelry line. That happened despite Ridge and Steffy’s concerns because Eric Forrester (John McCook) favored his family members being part of an effort formerly led by Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer).
Saint-Victor’s character should have known that was the right approach. He’s a smart guy who simply willed himself into believing that what he desired for FC was superior to what Eric, Ridge, and Steffy wanted. That was wrong and broke complete trust with the people he considers family.
Using Daphne and returning as president, Steffy’s attack gives her a clear shot at reclaiming the company this year. However, Carter’s legal control of the company will need to be altered. How that might happen is worth watching.
