The Young and the Restless’ Head Writer Previews 2025 – Suspense, Romance, Family Conflict – All On The Horizon
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers suggest the show has plenty of big surprises for the new year! The soap’s head writer, Josh Griffith, recently revealed some hints around major storylines that are headed fans way, so it’s time to dive into all the drama that’s set for 2025.
Y&R Spoilers: 2024 Was Good, 2025 Will Be Better!
Griffith recently spoke to TV Insider stating that 2025 will be “even better” than 2024. He adds, “It will be a whirlpool of romance, suspense, and family conflict.”
One interesting plot twist that Josh points out is the return of Jordan (Colleen Zenk) and Ian (Ray Wise), which will end with something Y&R viewers never saw coming. In fact, their storyline will heat up during February sweeps.
The head writer promises some huge face-offs between Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Jordan, as well as Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Ian, so fans will have to brace themselves for some drama.
Jordan and Ian’s return will also turn Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) world upside down and negatively affect her romance with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks).
In addition, the long-going rivalry between Victor and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will reignite, which will have a negative impact on the romance between Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Another person who will cause issues for Kylaire in 2025 is Summer Newman (Allison Lanier), who will take a page out of her mom’s, Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) scheming books to try and bring the couple down.
Y&R Spoilers: Romance Is In The Air
Still, there’s a silver lining to all the chaos Ian and Jordan create and that is, it’ll push Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), closer together. With that said, Shick fans shouldn’t get too excited as while a reunion is coming, it’ll be a slow burn.
Speaking of Sharon, she and rival Phyllis will be thrown into a dire circumstance that has them both re-evaluating their dynamic. Could Phyllis and Sharon become friends? Only time will tell!
Phyllis will also jump into a love triangle with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). Billy will feel conflicted between “bad girl” Phyllis and “good girl” Sally, and things will get that much more complicated when he goes into business with Phyllis.
Across town, after Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) learns the truth about Heather Stevens’ (Vail Bloom) demise, he’ll be flooded with emotion and there’s not only a potential for forgiveness but a new relationship, too.
In other news, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) are taken by surprise with the arrival of Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) new half-brother, Damian (Nathan Owens).
Interestingly enough, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will find herself locked in a mystery, which will catch the entire Winters family off guard.
Lastly, it looks like Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will dabble in reunion ideas as they move in together for Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) sake.
It sounds like what may start as a ‘chore’ could end up in romance.
