It was announced earlier this week that Kelly Monaco, who is best known for her role as Sam McCall on the hit ABC soap, has been fired.

Of course, the real reason why Kelly Monaco was let go from the show has not been revealed, but that hasn’t stopped the internet from wondering what is really going on behind closed doors.

It goes without saying that many General Hospital fans have had a lot to say about the matter on social media.

Some even commented with, “Sorry to see Kelly get the hook, but KM has seemed like she lost energy or interest since 2020. Plus she’s been dealing with panic attacks and anxiety which has led to a few temporary absences.”

“I must say I do not support killing off Sam. These outdated shithead showrunners think this is the 70’s and a shocking death is going to draw in viewers.”

Another critic wrote, “I enjoyed Kelly outside of GH, but as a lot of you have mentioned, there was always a lack of energy and her scenes fell flat. I suppose it doesn’t help when you act opposite the power house that is Nancy.”

“However, on the flip side she also acted opposite Steve for years, so maybe the lack of pronunciation and volume wore off on her.”

“Not always a fan of the character but that can be said for all of the characters. This is a strange move I wonder are they just trying to reunite Lulu with Dante OR free up some budget for Jonathan Jackson. Is it about to be a Jason/Liz/ Lucky triangle…Again.”
